Some teens don't need more strategies.

They need someone who knows how to understand the nervous system beneath the behaviors.

What looks like resistance is often protection.
What looks like defiance can be fear.
What looks like withdrawal may be a nervous system doing everything it can to survive.

When we begin there, connection becomes possible.

In this experiential workshop, Maggie Kline, SEP™, LMFT, MS introduces her Heart-Centered Resilience Roadmap through the real story of "Lance," a teenager living with complex PTSD who gradually rediscovered safety, trust, and a sense of self.

Rather than simply discussing theory, Maggie brings the work to life through storytelling, practical demonstrations, and a live faculty-led case consultation, offering tools you can begin applying immediately.

Together, you'll explore how to:

✓ Build trust with reluctant adolescents
✓ Strengthen emotional regulation through body awareness
✓ Integrate movement, breath, and attachment into clinical practice
✓ Apply these principles through a live case consultation

Whether you're a Somatic Experiencing® student, therapist, counselor, social worker, or anyone supporting teens impacted by developmental trauma, this workshop offers practical, relationship-centered tools for meeting adolescents where they are.

Every resistant teen has a story beneath the silence.

Every nervous system tells a different story.

Neurodivergent individuals often carry an increased burden of trauma—not because they are neurodivergent, but because of repeated experiences of misunderstanding, stigma, invalidation, and environments that ask them to become someone they're not.

Join Sarah Schlote, MA, RP, CCC, SEP™, for an in-depth exploration of how Somatic Experiencing® can be adapted in ways that are neurodivergence-informed, trauma-sensitive, and affirming.

Together, we'll explore practical approaches to supporting neurodivergent clients while honoring their unique nervous systems, lived experiences, and ways of being.

Pause. Notice.

Before moving on to the next thing, take a moment to notice what’s here.

What is your body communicating?
Where are you holding tension?
What feels settled?
What might be asking for a little more space?

We can become so practiced at continuing that we stop noticing what it costs us.

Somatic Experiencing® invites us to slow down enough to listen—not to fix or force what we find, but to meet ourselves with a little more awareness.

Your nervous system is always communicating. What do you notice when you make space to listen?

The work of helping others asks a lot of us.

To stay present. To listen deeply. To hold complexity. To keep showing up—even when our own nervous systems are asking for something different.

Burnout isn’t always a failure to cope. Sometimes, it’s what happens when we’ve been carrying, adapting, and continuing for too long without enough space to recover.

In Staying Human Under Strain, Shideh Lennon, Ph.D., SEP™ invites helping and healing professionals to explore another way forward—one rooted in listening to the nervous system rather than overriding it.

Through Somatic Experiencing®, guided experiential exercises, practical techniques, and a live demonstration, participants will explore how to recognize overwhelm, work with their limits, and restore greater regulation and clarity.

Not so you can endure more.

So you can stay connected to yourself while doing the work that matters.
