5 reminders to take care of yourself this June. ☀️💜

We’re halfway through the year.

Before rushing into the next goal, next client, next training, or next season, take a moment to pause and check in with yourself.

What’s been sustaining you lately?
What’s been feeling heavy?
What are you proud of?
What do you want more of in the second half of this year?

You do not need to have everything figured out to keep moving forward.

Growth can look like slowing down, creating boundaries, asking for support, or simply learning to listen to yourself more closely.

Halfway through the year is still enough time to come back to yourself.

Thinking about becoming an EMDR Consultant-in-Training (CIT), but unsure if a formal program is the right next step?

Starting September 14, our second IFS-Informed EMDR CIT Program begins a new cohort designed to support clinicians who want more than just consultation hours. This experience is rooted in mentorship, community, clinical depth, and helping therapists grow into their consultant voice with confidence.

Our blog, “Do You Need a CIT Program? What to Know Before You Commit,” explores how to determine whether a structured program is the right fit for your professional goals and growth.

If becoming a consultant is on your horizon, this is a meaningful place to begin reflecting on what kind of support will truly serve you.

You’ve learned the protocol. But what happens when your client’s system doesn’t follow it?

Beyond Basics in IFS-Informed EMDR: Working with Complex Systems is designed for clinicians ready to deepen their work with complex trauma, dissociation, and protective parts.

This advanced training moves past rigid application and into real-world integration where protectors are collaborators, not obstacles, and “resistance” becomes meaningful information, not something to override.

You’ll learn how to...
🌟 Work effectively with highly protected and dissociative clients
🌟 Integrate IFS into EMDR without losing fidelity to the model
🌟 Strengthen your own Self-energy to stay grounded in complex sessions

This is the shift from doing EMDR to truly understanding the system in front of you.

Behind the therapist, the business owner, the mother, the caretaker, there’s still a human being who deserves care, too.

On June 26, Crystal Hines and .villegas.therapist are hosting an intimate IFS Day Retreat for Mom Therapreneurs, created for women and femme-aligned therapists balancing the emotional weight of motherhood, entrepreneurship, and showing up for everyone else.

This retreat is an opportunity to step away from productivity and pressure for a moment and reconnect with yourself in a grounded, supportive space alongside other women who truly get it. Through reflection, community, intentional rage release (yes, you read that right), and IFS-informed practices, the day is designed to help you feel more connected, resourced and supported.

Spots are intentionally limited and registration closes June 12. Learn more through the link in bio.

Therapists are often taught how to support regulation in others, but not always how to notice when their own nervous systems are asking for care.

Our latest guest blog by trauma therapist Anna Khandrueva, LCSW, explores the hidden physiological toll of holding space all day and offers grounded, body-based tools therapists can actually use throughout the workday.

This is a gentle and practical read for clinicians navigating burnout, overwhelm, compassion fatigue, or simply trying to sustain themselves in meaningful work. Read the full blog in our bio.

What if the “resistance” you’re seeing isn’t something to push through but something to understand?

Integrating IFS with EMDR shifts the work entirely. Instead of overriding protectors, you learn to work with them. Instead of forcing processing, you create the conditions for it to unfold.

This approach deepens attunement, strengthens clinical decision-making, and supports more sustainable outcomes for both you and your clients.

Because effective trauma work isn’t about doing more. It’s about working in a way that actually honors the system in front of you.
