I've created a webpage on my site with details not only about the services I'm offering, but a list of all of the other midwives in the RGV. For most, I've listed their fees, and for some their availability for new June and July clients. The local doulas and I are working on getting answers from the last couple of midwives, and I'll update the page as I get more information.

At Heart of Gaia and across the valley, our hearts are going out to Holy Family clients and staff today, as Holy Family announced a pause of clinical services from the beginning of June. (For HF clients due soon, they will be reaching out to you to explain details on how you're affected. I don't know all the answers.)

This is a very difficult time for those affected, as they scramble to find new plans, and funds they'd not expected to need to spend. Please know that I and the other midwives across the valley are working to make the transition as smooth as possible. You will not be left without a safe, caring provider, and I'd urge you to take your time to choose your provider carefully. There are several midwives in the valley, and none of us is the right pick for everyone... so do ask us all your questions, but please also try to give us a little time to get all the answers to you, as we're trying to work through this at the same time you are.
I had a rare day absolutely full of appointments yesterday, and have not yet got back to everyone who called. I'm trying to work out some details, but will respond to everyone very soon. Please do feel free to email or call again if you don't hear from me by the end of the day, as it's just me most of the time at Heart of Gaia, and I've had a lot of calls since yesterday, and am worried I might miss replying to someone.

Here's Mama Canela and her truly Magical Machine, which churns out candy after candy every day from when the lights go on at 6pm. Papa Clavo can hardly keep up with threading them all onto garlands, so her bowl is fit to overflow!

We hope you can visit Holiday Village - Brownsville - Dean Porter Park this weekend to see Canela and her beautiful family. Entrance is free, and it's open every day until January 1st.

Meet Cardamomo! This little fellow is the perfect blend of sugar and spice. This year, he's building a gingerbread house from the kit his Nana Dera gave him. Check back later to see his progress and find out whether he creates a beautiful casita, whether it it all falls down... or whether he'll eat pieces of it before he's even finished!

Visit the Gingerbread Family at Village - Brownsville - Dean Porter Park for free any day between now and January 1st, with lights and animation on from 6pm until the park closes at 10 or 11.
