World War II veteran Thomas Eldridge Bailey, son of Vess Ivy Bailey and Bush Bailey and father of Mary Lee and Janice Bailey, will be honored Saturday, Dec. 14, at 10 am, at Greenleaf Cemetery with a Christmas wreath placed at his gravesite by his nephew Garland Bailey.

The wreath placement will be part of a memorial ceremony sponsored by Wreaths Across America. For more information go to wreathsacrossamerica.org and click on Meet the Heroes and enter Thomas Eldridge Bailey.

Each December on National Wreaths Across America Day, our mission to Remember, Honor and Teach is carried out by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as over 1,200 additional locations in all 50 U.S. states, at sea, and abroad. I forgot to say we had over 100 people at the cemetery! It was amazing, and nearly brought tears to my eyes. Thank you, each and everyone of you that came out and that were also at the reception. --Suzanne

Oh man what a day it was today! Beautiful ceremony honoring our ancestors and getting to know family, meeting so many people, and seeing old friends I haven't seen in years. Huge shout out to DRT for everything, the Boy Scouts, and the American Legion. Thank you to everyone that came out!!
