Yet another study showing strength training significantly reduces our risk of dying. This study also discusses the "sweet spot" of only 90-120 minutes of strength training needed each week to see these benefits.

Just a couple of hours of strength training each week could have surprisingly powerful effects on longevity. People who lifted weights for around 90 to 120 minutes weekly had a 13% lower risk of dying early, with especially large reductions in deaths from cardiovascular and neurological diseases. Pa...

If you have noticed lack of strength gains as you've gotten older, it may not be just your advancing age. Our muscular system remains responsive throughout our lives even if it doesn't respond like it did in our 20s and 30s. If you're not making the progress that you expect or want, you may need to look at a few areas to adjust.
1. Increase weight or number of reps to provide a proper stimulus to the muscular system
2. Check your protein intake to make sure you're providing the enough of the building blocks for muscle growth
3. Make sure you're getting enough sleep. This is the only time our body repairs itself, specifically the damage done during strength training.

Bottom line, don't give up if you're not seeing progress. Investigate those areas listed above and seek guidance if you need some help.

For those clients coming to the office on Thursday and Friday, there will be road closures due to the Air Show, specifically the back entrance coming from 123 by the golf course. You'll need to enter the Landing on the other side, off of Bath Rd or 24.

As a reminder, we will be closed on Saturday due to the Air Show. We will resume normal hours on Monday.

The link below is road closures on Saturday and Sunday if you do decide to come out to the Landing over the weekend. The only significant closing on Thursday and Friday is the road from 123.
