🩺 Kidney Fact Tuesday

πŸ’™ Did You Know?

Your kidneys do much more than make urine. They also:

βœ… Remove waste and toxins from your blood
βœ… Help control blood pressure
βœ… Balance electrolytes like sodium and potassium
βœ… Keep your bones healthy by activating vitamin D
βœ… Produce hormones that help make red blood cells

When your kidneys aren't working properly, your entire body can be affected.

🌟 Protect Your Kidney Health
β€’ Stay hydrated.
β€’ Eat a balanced, low-sodium diet.
β€’ Stay active.
β€’ Manage diabetes and high blood pressure.
β€’ Don't skip your annual checkups.

Early kidney disease often has no warning signs, so regular screenings are the best way to catch problems before they become serious.

πŸ“ Nephrology of the Golden Isles is committed to helping our community prevent, detect, and manage kidney disease.

Healthy kidneys. Healthier life.

πŸ’™ **Did You Know?** πŸ’™

Kidney disease often develops without noticeable symptoms in its early stages. That's why it's commonly called a "silent disease."

Your kidneys work around the clock to:
βœ… Filter waste and excess fluid from your blood
βœ… Help control blood pressure
βœ… Balance important minerals
βœ… Support red blood cell production
βœ… Keep your bones healthy

You may be at a higher risk for kidney disease if you have:
β€’ Diabetes
β€’ High blood pressure
β€’ Heart disease
β€’ A family history of kidney disease
β€’ Are age 60 or older

The good news? Early detection can help slow the progression of kidney disease and protect your kidney function. Routine blood work and urine testing are simple ways to monitor your kidney health.

If you have risk factors or concerns about your kidneys, don't wait to get checked. Your kidneys work hard for you every dayβ€”make your kidney health a priority!
