Life at Thornton Oaks is as varied and diverse as our residents, who are instrumental in planning and shaping community events. The calendar is filled with daily activities, from book groups and bridge parties to foreign affairs lectures and flower arranging. The Thornton Oaks shuttle bus makes frequent trips to the Bowdoin College pool and local shopping centers, as well as cultural excursions to Portland and Boston.

We thoroughly enjoyed a photo exhibit by members of First Light Camera Club. Linda and Mike Cullivan made a presentation about fascinating wildlife and travel photography. After residents and guests heard the presentation, there was time to study and enjoy 40 photographs by 23 photographers. The exhibit concluded with wine and appetizers on the back patio.

Today’s uncertain skies made us rethink the patio social.  The fireplace lounge was a great backup location.
