Today we celebrated someone who has made a lasting difference in the lives of so many.

After years of compassionate service, Javita is beginning a well-deserved retirement. Her kindness, dedication, and caring heart have touched countless patients, families, and coworkers, leaving a legacy that will continue long after today.

Thank you, Javita, for the compassion you’ve shared, the lives you’ve impacted, and the example you’ve set for all of us. While you’ll be greatly missed, we are so excited for this next chapter and wish you endless joy, relaxation, and new adventures.

Advanced care planning isn’t about giving up hope—it’s about making sure your wishes are known, your voice is heard, and your loved ones aren’t left guessing during a crisis.

The best time to have these conversations is before they’re needed. Because when the unexpected happens, your family should be focused on each other—not trying to figure out what you would have wanted.

This week, start the conversation. It may be one of the most important lessons you ever share.

Today, we said “see you later” to someone who has left an incredible mark on Hospice of the Golden Isles.

After 15 years of faithful service, our volunteer, Terry Leahey, is retiring. From supporting families through our bereavement program to sharing her kindness, compassion, and unwavering heart, Terry has been a true blessing to our organization and the countless lives she has touched.

There were plenty of laughs, lots of tears, and endless gratitude as we celebrated her today. Terry is a bright light, and while she will be deeply missed, we are so excited for this next chapter as she spends more quality time with her family.

Thank you, Terry, for 15 years of love, service, and dedication. Your legacy will continue to shine at HGI, and you’ll always be part of our family.

Happy retirement—we’ll see you later. 💙

The Camden Grief Support Group will meet NEXT Thursday, July 9th @ 2pm this month due to the holiday.
The normal schedule will resume in August meeting the first Thursday of each month.
