We are heartbroken to share the passing of Joy Samango, the incredibly talented massage therapist who called her space at Bryn Mawr Wellness home.
Joy brought something truly special to this space — a warmth and genuine care for her clients that went far beyond her work. Many of you knew her, and if you were ever lucky enough to be on her table, you know exactly what we mean. She had a gift, and she gave it freely.
She will be deeply missed by everyone here at Bryn Mawr Wellness, and our hearts go out to her family, her friends, and the many clients whose lives she touched. 🤍
It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Joy Samango, who left us peacefully on May 2, 2026, at the age of 49.
Joy built her massage practice on something simple and powerful — the belief that every person deserves to feel cared for. Her "healing hands" weren't just a gift; they were an extension of who she was. Compassionate, intuitive, and genuinely devoted to the wellbeing of everyone who walked through her door, Joy turned clients into friends and a business into a calling.
To those of you who were lucky enough to be in her care — you already know. You felt it.
Joy is survived by her mother Hope, her siblings Joseph, Michael, and Lauren, and her beloved nieces and nephews. She is also survived by the countless friends, neighbors, and clients who became family along the way.
A visitation will be held Monday, May 11 beginning at 9:30 AM at St. Denis Church, 2401 St. Denis Lane, Havertown, PA, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes contributions to Kitty Cottage Adoption Center (kittycottage.org) or Thorncroft Equestrian Center (thorncroft.org) — two causes that reflected Joy's enormous heart.
