Started bright and early at 8:30 AM with a 90-minute out-call, moved into a custom 90-minute body scrub at 1:00 PM, and wrapped up with a 2-hour deep relaxation session at 3:30 PM. Let me tell you about the Color Cave.

It is not just a name. It is a design decision.

The Color Cave is a curtain-shielded treatment space inside our Bryn Mawr location. The curtains are not decorative. They create a physically enclosed environment, a room within a room, because for some people, the feeling of being visible, even in a professional setting, is enough to keep the nervous system from ever settling.

The cloud ceiling and LED lighting are not ambiance. They are engineered to orient the nervous system toward calm rather than threat. Color, light, and enclosure have measurable effects on how the body processes safety.

There is a private en-suite bathroom with a shower. Not because every client will use it, but because for someone arriving in crisis, leaving the table mid-session to navigate a shared hallway can undo everything the session built.

Every element in this space was designed with one question: what would have to be true for someone who does not feel safe in their body to be able to receive care here?

The Color Cave is the answer.

Today, Just Your Type Massage is proud to introduce the Diamond in the Rough: Somatic Healing Initiative.

This program has been months in development, rooted in a simple but urgent belief: the body is the first site of trauma, and it must be the first site of care.

The Diamond in the Rough Initiative is a trauma-informed healing program housed within the protected Color Cave at our Bryn Mawr location. It was built specifically for individuals and families navigating acute grief, crisis, or trauma. People who need physical safety before they can access any other form of healing.

Every service in this initiative is engineered to disarm hypervigilance and provide the nervous system with a fierce layer of physical safety. Zero disrobing required. Face-up options available. Hands-only sessions for those who need to start smaller. A flagship 90-minute Diamond Renewal Session for those ready to go deeper.

And because crisis rarely waits for financial readiness, we are funding this through the Diamond in the Rough Crisis Fund. Clients who round up or add $5 at checkout fund one subsidized session per month for a mental health provider referral. Zero cost to our business. Complete access for someone who needs it most.

This is the work I was built to do.
