Heart & Sole 5K/Heart Awareness Day Tallapoosa East Baptist Church located in Buchanan, GA. The church was founded in 1850. Helping Hands was founded in 2017.

The mission of Tallapoosa East Baptist Church Helping Hands is dedicated to raise awareness of heart attacks, sudden cardiac arrest and heart disease and how it impacts lives of people of all ages by professionally supported health screenings and educational classes that will detect health issues, reinforce healthy lifestyles and save lives through CPR and providing AED’s (Automated External Defib

rillator) to the surrounding community. After the sudden death due to a heart attack of member, Byron Head, his wife Peppar Head, knew she had a responsibility to others by raising awareness of heart diseases. After discussions with the church pastor and several church members Helping Hands was created. This ministry is dedicated in memory of Byron Head with the purpose of making a difference in people’s lives through health screenings and educational opportunities.
