There are things in life we can learn about intellectually, but there are other medicines we can only receive through our own vessel's lived experience and those are some of my favorites.

No one can eat for you. No one can move your body for you. No one can say yes to the life you are being called toward for you.

It requires discipline, commitment, courage, and curiosity.

But the rewards of traveling roads we could experience no other way are phenomenal.

We can read about the Grand Canyon for the rest of our lives, but no photograph or description can replace the awe of watching sunrise move slowly across its walls - the shifting light, the quiet, the river, the wildlife. At some point, we have to go.

Standing on the sidelines can teach us a lot. But it cannot substitute for participating in our own lives.

And what are we doing here, if not learning how to co-create with life? To experience the fullness of who we are? To discover what we're made of?
This is the medicine I am carrying with me into this next season - and the medicine I have been practicing in my own life.

I attended a drum-making ceremony this past weekend, and as we wove each knot, we called in all of our relations. When we tied the handle at the center of the drum, it became a reminder that we are at the center of everything we do.

Not the center as in the center of the universe.

The center as in the place from which we participate.

When we are centered in our hearts, in our vibrancy, our radiance, our aliveness - we don't keep that medicine to ourselves. We offer it back into the field of relationship, into the lives and ecosystems our souls are here to tend.

I invite you to notice the ways you are courageously stewarding your own sacred life force.

May we keep choosing the roads we can only travel for ourselves.

May we keep saying yes to the life that is calling us.

And may we remember that we don't have to wait until we have it all figured out to begin participating.

Our soul song is already in us.

We just have to be brave enough to sing it into existence.

This past weekend I presented a talk at the University of Denver for the second annual Colorado Acupuncture & Herbal Medicine Expo hosted by CCMU. A whole-person, whole health & community wellness initiative.

My closing presentation for the three day event, was on "The Garden of Humanity" - highlighting the power of our Hearts and Spirits to inform our blueprint of consciousness. No matter how disconnected, dis-eased, or separated we may feel, we always have access to our hearts and the medicine of the earth. When we tend our inner ecosystem and nourish the essential life force within, instead of battling against the pain - this stewardship of heart consciousness becomes the blueprint for how we relate to ourselves, our relationships and our world.

You were born with a system of intelligence that is always seeking to redirect you to a state of balance, wholeness, and health. The same wisdom of intelligence that pulses through the stars, the ocean, the forests, and all life on earth.

Everytime one person becomes more resilient, more peaceful, more self-trusting, and more able to live from the truth of who they are, that change becomes part of the larger human story.

As within, so without.

The drum is the Heart Beat πŸ’“

I gathered this weekend in ceremony and in community as we came together to heal the hoop. We sat in circle, we shed our tears, we shared our stories, we laughed, and we stayed present to the mystery of Now - a sea of what was and what's yet to come.

Thank you Andrew & Monica Drumming Sounds for guiding us through a journey of rythmn, connection, curiosity, and remembering. And for helping us to become more intimate with the land, the animals and our own hearts as we became intimate with the skins and sinews of the animals that blessed our hoop and connect us with all of our relations. We now honor the animal we walk with through each intentional drum beat we offer to the collective human song.

May we walk in beauty ✨️

If you would love to experience your own traditional frame drum building journey, comment your enthusiasm below so we can invite Andrew and Monica to share their gifts with us in Buena Vista!

I'll be speaking at the Colorado Acupuncture & Herbal Medicine Expo at the University of Denver in a couple of weeks Colorado Chinese Medicine University.

CCMU's second annual whole-person, health & community wellness initiative.

This is a cause I am deeply supportive of: a gathering of colleagues and the general public, to come together and collectively influence a New Consciousness and New Earth rooted in authentic well-being.

When we care deeply for ourselves we remember how to care deeply for the Earth.

Modern healthcare often approaches healing as a battlefield - identifying symptoms, fighting disease, and searching for solutions. While these approaches have their place, lasting wellbeing invites a different relationship: one of stewardship.

Through the lens of Traditional East Asian Medicine, ecology, and whole-person wellness, my presentation explores healing as the cultivation of conditions in which life naturally flourishes. Participants will discover how the quality of care we learn to offer ourselves becomes the blueprint for how we care for all relationships: our loved ones, our communities, and the living world.

"As above, so below,
As within, so without".

By shifting from a paradigm of fixing to one of tending, attendees will leave with an ecological framework for understanding health as a living ecosystem - one that supports greater resilience, deeper connection, and sustainable healing from the inside out.

"Be the change you wish to see in the world."

When humanity remembers that we too are a garden, both individually and collectively, we can return as rightful stewards to the Garden of Earth.

So grateful for my community, and for friendships that sprout in the most unexpected places.

When you pluck a flower... the wisdom of the plant's lifeforce propagates more. As long as conditions are present for growth (sun, water, the 'right' season).

The environment creates the conditions... but the plant doesn't have to 'learn' or be taught what to do. Maybe that's true for our wisdom nature too...

Maybe we're too hard on ourselves when we fail to fully express in conditions that weren't able to support our lifeforce to begin with.

Dedicated to nourishing my soul's soil - excited to see what blooms.

And with devotion will continue to plant seeds of Love in this world and in the hearts of those I journey with, even if just for a moment, and even if I'm not around to enjoy the harvest.

And may I know my tears water this ecosystem of Love. Maybe that's why hearts break...so more love can exist in the world.

May Human consciousness become safe harbor through safe community - may we remember the Earth is our home.

Every day, I want to be better - every day we have choices. There's pain in life either way... but I choose the pain that connects me more deeply to my heart. Pain that keeps us disconnected (addictions, old patterns/programming, running from our soul's wisdom...) is a loan for temporary satisfaction or relief that'll come due with extraordinary interest rates. The only way out is through. Choosing the hard that is in service to Love has the highest ROI.

Here's to your courageous life, one heart beat 🎢 at a time. May we be lucky enough to find other hearts to rythmn with. May we remember the Heart beat of Pachamama and the more-than-human world.

I just want to be better than the me I was yesterday. Which does not mean more productive btw πŸ”₯! It means more available for Love to lead me and my vessel to receive this magical mystical Universe.

It's all a mystery. Let's dance 🫢

Shamanic traditions often ask four vital diagnostic questions when a person feels dispirited:

"When did you stop dancing?
When did you stop singing?
When did you stop being enchanted by stories? When did you stop being comforted by the sweet territory of silence?"

I started a song circle not because my voice or singing is the most technically capable - in fact, if you come, you'll see me wobble, even as I hold space. I started song circle to create a space where we can return to our voices.

Singing is not a performance; it is a birthright. Every time we return, we remember a belonging that cannot be taught.

The spirit longs to be free in all of its expressions. The willingness to be heard in community is brave and its a gift. The singing we share in our circle is a prayer for our own hearts, the hearts of our community, and the heart of Pachamama and the more-than-human world.

I believe the world needs more being and becoming, not just doing and performing. Singing in song circle helps us remember this.

Everytime you join is an invitation to return to your body, return to your heart, and to come to know that you are not alone.

Every gathering reveals something deeper.

Thank you, Memo, for joining us and offering your musical wisdom. Thank you for teaching us the heartbeats within the lyrics.

And keep your eyes open... a very special Autumn Equinox gathering is on its way. πŸ‚πŸŽΆ
