Cleaning and disinfecting procedures are often well documented.

Ex*****on is where variability appears.

Common challenges include:

⏱️ achieving contact times.

🧑🏼‍💻 integrating processes into workflow.

☑️ consistent product use.

📑 alignment between documentation and practice.

Inspection risk increases when procedures are not operationally realistic.

A strong program ensures that not only are processss defined — but consistently achievable.

🚨 Did you know that falls are among the leading causes of preventable injuries in healthcare settings?

The right technology can make all the difference.

A Dallas Community Living Center initiative showed that implementing a wireless fall prevention solution reduced fall rates by more than 60%, helping create a safer environment for patients and staff alike.

Every alert. Every intervention. Every prevented fall matters.

🛡️ Safer patients.

🏥 Better outcomes.

❤️ Stronger care.

Environmental monitoring is required under USP .

A defensible monitoring program is not. That distinction matters.

Strong programs are built on:

✔️ risk-based site selection
✔️ defined trending practices
✔️ structured investigation approaches
✔️ clear documentation of rationale

Sampling alone does not demonstrate control.

A program should show why data is collected, how it is interpreted, and what actions are taken in response.

When it comes to sterile compounding, contamination control is a strategy, not a task.

✅ Garbing and hand hygiene.

✅ Material transfer.

✅ Cleanroom behavior.

✅ Cleaning and disinfection.

✅ Facility design and monitoring.

Individually, they matter. Together, they define control.

Sustainable compliance happens when contamination control is built into culture — not inspections.

Cleanroom behavior is a skill.

✔️Slow movements.
✔️Minimal talking.
✔️Focus on work.

This sounds obvious — until you observe real workflows.

USP recognizes that how people move and behave directly impacts contamination risk.

Spend time observing work practice to better understand your risk.

Supplies and components might be the most underestimated contamination risk in sterile compounding.

Material transfer goes well beyond just wiping things down — it’s also:

✔️ understanding which microorganisms may be lurking on the materials.

✔️ choosing the right agent and meeting the dwell time.

✔️ wearing gloves to prevent recontamination.

✔️ thoroughly wiping ALL surfaces of the item.

Your viable sallling data could be screaming that there’s a problem.

Take the time to listen.

USP doesn’t emphasize garning and hand hygiene by accident — people are the largest source of particles and microorganisms in the cleanroom.

Best-in-class programs don’t just train:

☑️ They observe.

☑️ They reinforce.

☑️ They reassess.

Garbing and hand hygiene aren’t “entry requirements”.

They’re continuous contamination control activities.
