Over the past year, Neighborhood Health Center has partnered with the Community Health Care Association of NYS to help healthcare teams test ideas, learn what works, and continuously improve patient care.

Our Northwest location at 155 Lawn Ave. served as a pilot site for work to strengthen blood pressure control and improve outcomes for patients.

Neighborhood Clinical Pharmacist Jim Martin recently presented findings from our work at a CHCANYS Learning Collaborative. This work was made possible through the collaboration of an incredible Neighborhood working group: Casey McLeod, Frank Smith, Dr. Chantal Ogle, Michelle Ferrara, and Dana Ingebretson.

👏 Thank you to everyone who contributed to this important work! We’re proud to be part of efforts that support better health outcomes for our community.

New dental equipment is coming to Neighborhood Health Center to help us better serve you, thanks to Delta Dental.

chose Neighborhood for a $100,000 grant this year for the equipment purchase and to support our sliding fee program for dental patients who face financial challenges. Thank you, Delta Dental!

When it comes to your healthcare, quality matters!

Neighborhood Health Center is once again the highest ranked health center in WNY for quality.

Health centers across the nation are required to report a core set of information to the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) about the care they provide. This includes information about health outcomes, patients' use of services, staffing, and costs. From this data, HRSA determines a quality score for each health center, and awards badges to those with high quality scores.

Neighborhood was awarded a total of seven quality recognition badges for 2026. Read more: https://nhcwny.org/about/news/article:1/

Thank you to everyone who celebrated National Health Center Week with us, from our Patient Appreciation Days, to the ribbon cutting for our newest site on Delaware Avenue, to our Staff/Board Appreciation Day. It was a great week!

As we move beyond Health Center Week, let us not lose sight of why it's important to invest in health centers for the health of our communities. Check out the op-ed piece by Neighborhood's President & CEO Joanne Haefner published in the Buffalo News.

The U.S. spends far more on specialty care and hospital services than it does on primary care. Research consistently shows that communities with stronger primary care systems experience lower healthcare

Thank you, Neighborhood patients. We appreciate you!

And, thank you to everyone who stopped by our Patient Appreciation Days to celebrate National Health Center Week with us. We gave away backpacks, school supplies, and grocery bags, had some fun activities, and shared resources from our community partners.
