Did you catch our torch relay last week? In the lead-up to the American Heart Association - New York State's Heart Walk, associates across our healthcare system came together to celebrate the outstanding cardiac care we provide and to invite everyone to take part in this year’s event.

The torch traveled from site to site as we highlighted the importance of accessible cardiac care and the steps we can all take to stay heart-healthy. Don’t miss your chance to join us!

We have some πŸ›πŸ“–Very Hungry Caterpillars πŸ›πŸ“– gearing up for our annual NICU Read-a-thon...and they'd love for you to join in on the fun!

Next month is National Literacy Month and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) month, and our NICU is teaming up with Mercy Hospital of Buffalo's NICU to participate in the Babies With Books international Read-a-thon - a friendly reading competition between NICUs around the world. Reading promotes infant brain development, supports family bonding, and decreases infant and parent stress related to an intensive care hospitalization.

This year, we're once again partnering with our neighbors at Alice, Ever After Books to create a wishlist, with the hope that our nurses can provide each of our NICU families with a book to read together during our 2026 Read-a-Thon. Thank you for helping to inspire our littlest bookworms as they wiggle their way toward wonderful milestones!

Send some happy mail to our families here:

This week kicks off and we just reached a major milestone here at Sisters - we received our 10,000th donated ounce of breastmilk! A big thank you to local mom Morgan Strollo, who stopped by the hospital to generously donate 230 ounces of milk - that's enough to supply 2 babies in our NICU with a whole week of nutrition!

We're proud to work directly with The New York Milk Bank to collect milk from local donors year round for babies in need. To schedule a drop off, you can contact our lactation team at 716-862-1939, and SHARE this to help us spread the word!

πŸͺπŸš€SAVE THE DATE! Calling all NICU grads! πŸͺπŸš€

We'll be hosting our NICU Reunion Saturday, October 3 at the Buffalo Museum of Science. If your child spent time in the NICU at Sisters or Mercy, you're invited to come reconnect with the incredible caregivers who helped nurture your baby's growth in their earliest days. Whether you have a four month-old NICU graduate or a 14 year-old grad, our teams would love to see where life took you and your family and how big our littlest babies are now.

When you’re in need of medical care, having a provider who thoughtfully listens to your concerns can make all the difference in how you feel and how you recover. The patients of Stephen Reinhart, a PA at our Sisters Hospital Health Center D’Youville, describe him as exactly that kind of person - courteous, professional, and exceptional at making people feel understood. This morning, we were thrilled to present Stephen with a Living Our Values Effectively (LOVE) Award after he was nominated by a patient for the way he cares.

Thank you, Stephen, for serving our community so intentionally and compassionately! πŸ’™
