Today marks the start of the 10th annual National Locum Tenens Week!

Every locum assignment looks different. Some providers cross the country for an assignment. Others cover a hospital forty minutes from their house. Some do it full time, some a few weeks a year between other things.

What is the same is why they're there: a schedule with a hole in it, and patients already booked.

More than 55,000 physicians worked a locum assignment last year. That's over 5% of the doctors in this country.
