Celebrating Ava's Summer at Diversified! 🌟
As the summer semester comes to a close, we want to recognize someone who has made a lasting impression on all of us at Diversified Hearing • Rehabilitation • Balance.
From her very first day, Ava brought enthusiasm, a positive attitude, and a genuine passion for helping others. Over the course of the summer, we had the privilege of watching her grow—not only in her clinical knowledge and skills, but also in the confidence, compassion, and professionalism she demonstrated with every patient she encountered.
What has impressed us most isn't just how much she has learned, but how she cares. Ava has a natural ability to make patients feel comfortable, listened to, and valued. Her warm personality, infectious smile, and sincere compassion have made a meaningful difference in the lives of the patients and families she has served.
She quickly became a valued member of our team, and it is safe to say that she will be greatly missed by both our staff and our patients.
We are incredibly proud of everything Ava has accomplished during her time with us and have no doubt that she has an exceptionally bright future ahead. The profession of audiology—and the patients she will one day serve—is fortunate to have someone with her dedication, kindness, and heart.
Thank you, Ava, for sharing your summer with us. We wish you continued success and look forward to following your journey. We know you are going to do amazing things!
Please join us in wishing Ava all the best as she returns to continue her education! Oh...and she is hold a gift that was personnally made for her!❤️👏

7/21/26 World Health Orgainzation Updates Dementia Prevention Guidelines, Elevates Hearing Loss and Hearing Aid Use to Core Public Health Priorities! (Hearing Review)

The World Health Organization (WHO) has released updated dementia prevention guidelines that place hearing loss squarely at the center of a public health strategy for brain health. The revised guidance expands the list of modifiable risk factors, with untreated hearing loss identified as one of the largest preventable contributors to cognitive decline — accounting for an estimated 7% of dementia cases at the population level.

Sometimes It's Not About Hearing Aids
At Diversified Hearing • Rehabilitation • Balance, we often say that we are in the people business. Hearing aids, therapy, and diagnostics are simply the tools we use to improve lives.
Today, we were reminded of that when we received this letter from one of our 90-year-old patients following his appointment with Julia, one of our Hearing Aid trainees.
Julia wasn't asked to do anything extraordinary that day. She simply did what she always does—she listened, she cared, she patiently solved the problem, and she treated our patient with kindness, confidence, and respect. To him, however, it was extraordinary.
What makes this letter even more special is that Julia is early in her career with us. Technical skills can be taught, and they will continue to grow with experience. Compassion, kindness, and the genuine desire to help others are qualities that come from the heart—and Julia has them in abundance.
We couldn't be more proud of this young lady and all of the young professionals who choose to grow with us. They represent the future of Diversified and the values upon which we were founded more than 40 years ago.
Julia, thank you for reminding us that sometimes the greatest compliment isn't about what we do—it's about how we make people feel.
We are very proud to have you as part of the Diversified family.

Yesterday, I attended the wake of a friend's father who passed away days after a fall.

It was a sobering reminder that, for many older adults, it is often not the fall itself that becomes life-changing—it is the complications that can follow. A fall can lead to hospitalization, loss of independence, decreased mobility, and serious medical complications that are difficult to overcome.

Many falls are preventable with proper intervention.

Balance disorders, dizziness, medication side effects, hearing loss, cognitive changes, muscle weakness, and environmental hazards can all increase fall risk. Identifying these factors early and developing a personalized prevention plan can make a meaningful difference.

As healthcare providers, we see firsthand how important it is to take falls seriously before they happen.

Please take a moment to review the information below and share it with someone you love.

Some moments just hit differently.

Receiving this card from one of our student clinicians — and especially reading the handwritten note from her mother — truly meant more than I can put into words.

To know that the lessons, guidance, and support we try to provide are making an impact not only professionally, but personally, is incredibly meaningful.

Thank you for the beautiful words and kindness. Moments like this remind us why we do what we do — and give us the fuel to keep going.
