The American Optometric Association recommends a child’s first comprehensive eye exam at
6 months old to help detect vision or eye health problems that might otherwise go unnoticed.
After that, exams are recommended again at age 2 and once more before starting
kindergarten to ensure your child’s vision is developing properly and they’re ready to learn and
grow.
