CAT PARENTS—RUN AND GRAB IT!!!

Having used Tvati for myself (neck issues) and my large dogs (mobility support), I can firmly say their formula is phenomenal.

Our kitties get arthritis too, they just don’t show pain as transparently as dogs or people do. I’m so excited to now have a product to give to my kitty Goose, the 16 year old light of my life 💜

Eggs are so important, I wrote a poem about them. It goes like this:

Eggs are delicious,
and very nutritions.
But for some people,
eggs make them feel superstitious...

And by that, I mean the ongoing debate about the white part of the egg blocking the absorption of biotin. The good news is, if you feed the whole egg, that isn't a problem! Kay of and does an amazing job of explaining how nature made sure that eggs were the perfect food.

Chicken sensitivity? No problem! You can use duck, quail, turkey, goose, the possibilities are varied. And you don't have to reply solely on eggs from your local grocer. Farmers, backyard bird owners, asian markets, farmers markets are all excellent resources.

Being low in zinc can really stink, but luckily there are quite a few sources that can help you meet your zinc requirements with DIY diets!

Zinc is highest in oysters, then lean beef, organs, turkey, chicken gizzards, some in venison and wild game, a little in veggies. Overall zinc isn't impossible to meet as long as you know where to look. I personally buy my oysters canned online, but i've also found them fresh in a container at local asian markets and in the shells at regular grocers and fish markets.

People can be low in zinc too, especially vegetarians since the zinc in veggies is rather minimal. Symptoms might show up as brittle nails/thin nails, thinning hair/coat, poor wound healing, chronic infections, and thyroid disorders (zinc is one of the core 6 nutrients the thyroid needs to function- if you want to learn more about that, listen to S2E1 all aboutt thyroid health!).

FISH! FISH! FISH! I love fish.

Why is that? Well, I'm glad you asked. Omega 3s are one of the most important components in the diet, and one of the nutrients many people and pets are deficient in. And it's an easy to attain nutrient mark to hit as long as you're mindful about your ingredients.

Fish (salmon, sardine, anchovy, mackerel and so many more), shellfish (oyster, mussel, clam), algae oil (Woof Creek Pet Wellness has an amazing one, check them out!), wild game such as venison, bison, elk, are all great sources. Grass fed and pastured meats also have some. But sadly, caged chicken and pork and feed lot cows have next to none, and those are staples in most diets because of affordibility and availability. I know I can't afford to feed all grass fed and pastured meats to my self or my pets right now.

Lets talk histamine!

What if the problem with seasonal allergies isn't the histamine response... what if the issue is how we clear it from the body?

Suppressing rather than supporting is never the answer, and allergies is a prime example of that. We need histamine for many other things including modulating hormone and neurotransmitters. And of course, as always, the gut plays a role!

I’ve been using fish from since moving back to Buffalo and losing access to fish through raw feeding co-ops. Yall, they saved my life over here being in a fresh fish desert, for real.

I use fish for omegas 3s, vitamin D, iodine and other trace minerals. I depend on them to balance my dogs’ meals. And thankfully, MPC offers fish that are affordable with a large variety that is great if you’re using them like I do, or if you just want some for snacks or training treats.
