Loss is happening during this time of the pandemic. Compounding this loss is the severe weather that has people in Texas and other states trying to find water, food, and gas and other basic necessities. The recent death of public figures such as Carmen, Rush Limbaugh, and other ministers I have associated with for years, makes me realize the fragileness of life. I hope others are joining me in praying for those who are struggling to survive during this unprecedented time.
I am reminded of my own sense of loss during this time as I continue to recover from the COVID virus. I rarely get sick. When I have gotten sick, I am not a good patient as I hate "feeling bad" and want to get back up and back to my usual "normal". The lingering effects of the virus for me has been fatigue and just not having the desire to get up and be active. It is a strange feeling for me as I have felt more out of touch with what is happening in the world and have felt more deeply that the world is going to continue on as usual whether I am well or not. Responding in healthy and heartfelt ways to those who are dealing with loss during this time, is important. I am sharing this page/link with you and hope that you will let this short animation speak to you as it did to me. People dealing with loss do not need false hope, platitudes, or other words that say "I want you to feel better or different" instead of words that communicate "I'm here with you".
