Dahlia Living is a unique place, where we provide 24/7 long term homes and care for developmentally

Our mission is to provide creative living options, advocate for equal recognition and ensure a quality life for adults who are differently-abled. Currently we have four resident homes: Halcyon, Champion, Visions, and Trail House. Along with providing homes, we provide advocacy and referral services to many families who need services for their handicapped family members. Each resident has access 24

hours a day to a caregiver who assists them in any activity that the resident cannot safely accomplish on their own. This can include, but is not limited to: cooking, accompanying residents to recreational activities or doctors appointments, grocery shopping, laundry, etc.

For the next week, our residents and staff will experience activities and crafts as they celebrate summer. Not all of the residents can attend traditional summer camps, so Camp DAHLIA allows us to provide that experience for all of our residents. We're pleased to share that we have joined the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower program to better support people with non-apparent disabilities as they travel through our system. Through this program, we will offer complementary Sunflower lanyards. People who choose to wear them can quietly signal that they may need extra time, understanding or help while traveling. We are now finishing employee training and plan to officially launch the program in late July. Please stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks on how to get and use the lanyards.

This effort reflects our commitment to making Washington State Ferries accessible and welcoming for everyone. Accessibility is more than meeting rules. It is about how we serve people every day and how we improve the travel experience for all riders. We are committed to building a system where everyone feels welcome, included and respected.

NEW! Neurodivergent people — and others who would benefit — can now pick up a special blue envelope meant to hold important papers, such as vehicle registration and insurance information. The goal is to make interactions with law enforcement safer and more productive.
