World Osteoporosis Day is today October 20!

This yearโ€™s theme, โ€œBuild, Protect, Strengthen Your Bones,โ€ highlights the importance of preventing osteoporosis before a life-changing fracture occurs. Osteoporosis affects more than 200 million people worldwide, yet many at-risk individuals remain undiagnosed and untreated.

Protect your bone health by:

โœ… Staying active with weight-bearing exercise
โœ… Getting enough calcium, vitamin D, and protein
โœ… Avoiding smoking and excessive alcohol
โœ… Knowing your risk factors
โœ… Talking with your healthcare provider about bone density screening

Strong bones support a strong life. Take steps today to build, protect, and strengthen your bones for the future!

๐Ÿš—๐Ÿ’™ National Teen Driver Safety Week | October 18-24, 2026 ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿš—

Motor vehicle crashes remain one of the leading causes of death for teens in the United States, making safe driving habits more important than ever. During National Teen Driver Safety Week, we encourage parents, caregivers, and teens to have important conversations about staying safe behind the wheel.

โœ… Buckle up every trip, every time
โœ… Put the phone away and avoid distractions
โœ… Obey speed limits and traffic laws
โœ… Never drive impaired or ride with an impaired driver
โœ… Limit passengers and focus on the road
โœ… Get plenty of rest before driving

Parents play a vital role in helping teens build safe driving skills. Set clear expectations, model safe driving behaviors, and continue practicing with your teen as they gain experience.

Let's work together to keep our young drivers, their passengers, and everyone on our roadways safe.

Texas Health shares what women should know about menopause and hormone replacement therapy, including common symptoms, treatment options and when to talk with your doctor.

For years, many women heard a simple message about hormone replacement therapy (HRT): avoid it. That message was passed down from mothers, grandmothers and even some doctors. Today, the guidance looks very different, and a lot of women are left wondering what is actually true.

๐ŸŒŸ Empowering Seniors Expo: Education, Connection and Community ๐ŸŒŸ

The Empowering Seniors Expo brought together seniors, caregivers and community partners for a day focused on health, wellness and aging well.

Texas Health team members from Trauma Services, Emergency Services, Stroke Services, the Breast Center, Heart & Vascular, Physical Therapy and several other departments were on hand to share valuable health information, screenings and resources. Attendees also explored MARGE, MILTON and MILO, our larger-than-life inflatable educational exhibits that make learning about the digestive system, lungs and heart both fun and memorable.

The event was made possible with the help of more than 30 Texas Health Community Time Off (CTO) volunteers, who welcomed guests and helped ensure a great experience throughout the day.

A special thank you to Texas Health Burleson and Texas Health Willow Park for sponsoring transportation, making it easier for seniors to attend and benefit from the event's valuable resources and educational opportunities.

Together, we're helping empower older adults with the knowledge, support and connections they need to live healthier, more independent lives. โค๏ธ

From colleagues to friends and sources of strength. ๐Ÿ’™

When Texas Health Southwest colleagues Christal Miller and Laura Rasor both faced cancer diagnoses, they leaned on each other for support. Their shared experience transformed a workplace connection into a powerful friendship built on resilience, encouragement and hope.
Read their story in Fort Worth magazine:

Last year, Christal Miller and Laura Rasor were diagnosed with aggressive forms of cancer nearly back-to-back โ€” but through their battles, they also became stronger individuals and closer friends.
