👟 Back-to-School Myth: Kids Need the Most Expensive Athletic Shoes.
We've had several parents ask us recently:
"Should I buy the expensive shoes for my child?"
Our answer...
Not necessarily.
The best shoe isn't always the most expensive one—it's the one that fits your child's foot well, is comfortable, and matches the activity they're doing.
When shopping, look for:
✔️ A comfortable fit right away (there shouldn't be a long "break-in" period)
✔️ About a thumb's width of space in front of the longest toe
✔️ A supportive heel that doesn't slip
✔️ A shoe that bends at the toes, not through the middle
Just as important as buying the right shoe is knowing when it's time to replace it.
🔎 Signs it's time for a new pair:
• The tread is worn smooth
• The heel is wearing unevenly
• The midsole looks compressed or creased
• Your child's toes are touching the front
• They start complaining that the shoes don't feel as comfortable
Myth: "If they still fit, they're still good."
Reality: Active kids often wear out a shoe before they outgrow it.
