After many years of caring for patients and serving our community, Dr. Bernie Boehmer will be retiring at the end of this week.

We are incredibly grateful for the dedication, compassion, knowledge, and countless hours he has given to his patients over the years. He has touched so many lives and has been an important part of our community.

While we are sad to see him retire, we are excited for him to begin this next chapter of life! 🎉

🌞 BEAT THE HEAT: A Summer Safety Reminder ☀️🌡️

High temps are sticking around for the next couple of weeks! ❤️

Your quick-hit summer survival guide:

• Sunscreen, always 🧴 — SPF up and reapply often, even for “just a quick trip outside.” The sun doesn’t do quick trips.
• Hydrate like it’s your job 💧 — If you think you’ve had enough water… drink some more. Extra important for kids, grandparents, and anyone with health conditions.
• Never leave anyone in a parked car 🚗🔥 — Not kids, not pets, not elderly family, not for a minute. Cars go from warm to dangerous shockingly fast.
• Pets need shade + water 24/7 🐶🐱🌳 — Paws get hot too!
• Know the warning signs 🩺 — Dizziness, nausea, or confusion can mean heat exhaustion or heat stroke. Don’t wait it out — act on it.

Understanding Medicare Wellness Visits is essential for accurate billing and compliance. Here’s a simple breakdown of the three key HCPCS codes:

⚕️ IPPE (Initial Preventative Physical Examination) –
“Welcome to Medicare” G0402

📅 When: Within the first 12 months of Medicare Part B enrollment
🔁 Frequency: Once in a lifetime

Includes:
Medical & social history
Review of risk factors
Review functional ability and safety level
Limited physical exam (height, weight, BMI)
Education & counseling
⚠️ IPPE is NOT an Annual Wellness Visit (AWV).

⚕️ Initial Annual Wellness Visit (AWV) G0438

📅 When: After 12 months of Part B enrollment
🔁 Frequency: Once in a lifetime
🚫 Cannot be billed within 12 months of IPPE (G0402)
Required 8 Complete Elements:

2️⃣ Medical & family history
3️⃣ List of providers & suppliers
