When families take the time to share their experience, it means so much to our team. 💙

Today’s celebrates Margaret Mary Atkinson, RN, Case Manager, and Cynthia Ortega, RN, for the compassion, dedication, and thoughtful care they provide through ANX Hospice Care.

Recent HCAPS comment feedback gave our team another reason to celebrate. Families shared that their loved ones received “excellent care” and expressed heartfelt thanks for the support provided by the ANX Hospice Care team. One family specifically recognized Margaret and Cynthia for helping care for their loved one and shared appreciation for the nurses and social worker who continued to provide support throughout the week and on weekends.

These words remind us that quality hospice care reaches far beyond clinical services. It is about showing up with compassion, providing comfort, supporting families, and treating every person with dignity and respect.

Margaret and Cynthia, thank you for the care you provide and the trust you build with every family you serve. Your dedication reflects what ANX Hospice Care stands for: compassionate, patient-centered care when it matters most.

We are grateful for you and the difference you make every day. 💙🧡

National Immunization Awareness Month

August is National Immunization Awareness Month, a reminder that prevention plays an important role in protecting our health.

Vaccines can help protect older adults, families, and individuals with certain health conditions from serious illnesses. Staying informed and keeping recommended immunizations up to date is one simple step toward better health.

This month, take a moment to review your vaccination history and talk with your healthcare provider about which vaccines may be recommended for you.

Prevention today can support healthier tomorrows. 🧡💙

| Protect Yourself This Flu Season

A simple step today can help protect your health tomorrow.

For older adults, especially those 65 and above, the flu can lead to serious complications that may require hospitalization. An annual flu shot remains one of the best ways to reduce your risk and help keep you healthy throughout the season.

Good habits also make a difference:
• Wash your hands regularly
• Cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze
• Wear a face mask if you're feeling unwell or when recommended
• Stay home and contact your healthcare provider if you develop flu symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, or fatigue

Prevention starts with small, consistent actions. Protect yourself, your loved ones, and your community by making flu prevention part of your routine.

| Did You Know? 🤝

Did you know that strong friendships and meaningful social connections can benefit both your physical and mental health? According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), people with supportive relationships are more likely to live longer, healthier lives. Social connections can help reduce stress, support heart health, improve sleep, and lower the risk of depression, anxiety, and cognitive decline.

As National Friendship Day approaches this Sunday, it's a timely reminder that staying connected is an important part of overall well-being, especially for older adults and those managing chronic health conditions. A phone call, a shared meal, or simply spending time together can make a meaningful difference.

At ANX Home Healthcare and ANX Hospice Care, we believe compassionate care goes beyond medical treatment. We build trusted relationships with every patient and family because connection, kindness, and support are essential parts of healing and comfort.

This weekend, take a few minutes to reach out to someone you care about. Your friendship could be one of the healthiest gifts you share.
