Yesterday was a truly meaningful day at Masonic Village as we honored resident James Owens, a 101-year-old World War II veteran, for his service and sacrifice to our country. 🇺🇸🙌

Mr. Owens was presented with a Quilt of Valor by the National Quilts of Valor Foundation, a heartfelt symbol of gratitude, comfort, and respect. We were also honored to welcome Burlington Township Mayor E.L. “Pete” Green, who presented a proclamation recognizing Mr. Owens and his remarkable legacy.

Thank you to the residents, family members, staff, community leaders, and guests who joined us for this special tribute. We are grateful for the opportunity to celebrate Mr. Owens and the generation of veterans he so proudly represents.

Mr. Owens is one of our oldest residents, and this brief ceremony is a meaningful opportunity for staff, residents, and community members to come together in recognition of his service, dedication, and remarkable life.

Take us out to the ballgame! ⚾☀️

Yesterday, some of our Independent Living residents enjoyed a beautiful day at the Trenton Thunder game for Boomer’s Birthday Bash. From the sunshine and stadium snacks to the cheers from the crowd, it was a wonderful afternoon of baseball, laughter, and time together.

We love seeing our residents out and about, enjoying great local experiences and making memories along the way! 🎉

Marvin Carpenter has been through things most of us can't imagine — five heart attacks, a broken neck sustained while saving a child from a burning building, decades of service as an Army veteran and law enforcement officer. He's not easily rattled. But the hip injury that brought him back to us this year was, by his own account, one of the hardest things he's faced. 💙😊

He'd been here before — a shoulder injury in 2023 — and liked it enough to recommend us to about nine people since. So when surgery wasn't an option and therapy was the only path forward, he knew exactly where he wanted to be. "It's like visiting relatives," Marvin says. "It just happens that your relatives work here. They come in, hit the door — 'Hey Marv, how you feeling?' That means a lot to me. You don't find that everywhere."
