Pre-natal or Post-partum Massage – Pregnancy and labor place specific demands on our bodies. Fortunately, massage can relieve many of the common discomforts of pregnancy (hip pain, low back pain, pelvic pain, etc.), prepare you for a healthy and relaxed labor, and assist your body to fully recover once baby has arrived. 60 minutes - $110. 90 minutes - $160. 120 minutes - $210. Myofascial Release Massage – Did you know that all muscles fibers are interwoven with connective tissue, known as "fascia"? As we age, fascial tissue, designed to lubricate and facilitate movement, can become gluey and rigid, impeding movement and causing discomfort. Myofascial Release Massage, similar to gentle forms of Rolfing, deeply stretches fascial tissue, increases range of motion and encourages a balanced easeful posture. This style of bodywork includes postural assessment, and frequent client participation with small movements. If you like deep tissue massage, you will love this work! This work can create deep and lasting changes. 60 minutes - $110. 90 minutes - $160. 120 minutes - $210. 90-minute or 120-minute sessions are encouraged. Thai Yoga Massage – Thai Yoga Massage is an ancient bodywork practice that releases muscle tension, increases flexibility, and balances internal energy. Both therapist and client are fully clothed in loose-fitting garb. A relaxing foot bath is followed by a progressive series of deep stretching movements combined with rhythmic compression to energy lines. Deeply refreshing! Particularly useful for those with tension in the low back, hips and legs! 90 minutes - $160. 120 minutes - $210. Hot Stones Massage – A focused or full-body session incorporating hot stones (smooth rocks heated in a hot water bath) as well as other massage techniques. The application of therapeutic heat softens connective and muscle tissue, improves circulation, and feels awesome! 60 minutes* - $120. 90 minutes - $170. 120 minutes - $220. *Please note that a full-body hot stones massage requires a 90-minute session. 60-minute hot stones massage sessions are available for focused therapeutic work on part of the body, i.e., neck & back, legs & feet, etc. Neck & Shoulder Release Treatment – A treatment session for those suffering from chronic or acute neck pain/stiffness, and/or shoulder pain/stiffness, and/or frequent headaches or migraines. I utilize a myofascial release massage series, followed by a blend of deep tissue massage and hot stones massage to thoroughly release the neck and shoulder area. 90 minutes - $170. 120 minutes - $220. Low Back & Hip Release Treatment – A treatment session for those suffering from chronic or acute low back pain/stiffness, and/or pain/stiffness in the hips and gluteal region. I enjoy providing therapeutic myofascial release and deep tissue massage, sports massage, pre-natal and post-partum massage, relaxation massage, cupping, hot stones massage and Thai Yoga massage. I specialize in focused clinical massage for the relief of chronic or acute musculoskeletal conditions. I have supported the healing processes of clients with a wide range of health conditions including pregnancy-related discomforts, cancer, hip replacement surgery, migraines, car accidents, thoracic outlet syndrome, fibromyalgia, anxiety, depression, and chronic pain/stiffness in the neck, shoulders, back, hips, arms, legs and feet. I also specialize in full-body relaxation treatments. In 2011, I graduated from a 700-hour training program in relaxation and therapeutic massage through Touchstone Healing Arts. I went on to receive my national certification in massage therapy. Before turning my attention fully to my private practice, I was employed for several years by two local chiropractors, Onion River Chiropractic and Cedarwood Chiropractic. I also hold a B.A. in education from Brown University. I believe strongly in professional development and ongoing continuing education; I’ve been certified in Reiki, Thai Yoga Massage, Hot Stones Massage, Myofascial Release Massage, Advanced Deep Tissue Massage and Pre-natal and Post-partum Massage, as well as many Anatomy Trains Structural Integration Essentials courses. Based on the needs or requests of each client, I tailor each session to that client by blending a range of modalities including, including Relaxation, Swedish, Deep Tissue, Trigger Point, Active Release, Passive Positional Release, Postural Analysis, Hot Stones, Thai Yoga, Myofascial Release, Proprioceptive Nueromuscular Facilitation, Structural Integration, Reflexology, Aromatherapy, Hydrotherapy, and Cupping. I continually learn new techniques to better serve my clients’ diverse needs. In 2019 I completed a 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training with Evolution PT and Yoga. I’m currently pursuing my 300-hr yoga certification with Laughing River Yoga, as well as completing Part 1 of the Anatomy Trains Structural Integration program. I bring my passion for yoga practice and knowledge of healthy posture to provide clients with stretching and strengthening exercises that can deepen the benefits of their massage sessions
I am, by nature, a warm and intuitive person, with a curious scientific mind. These qualities allow me to skillfully tailor each session to the unique needs of an individual’s mind, body and spirit. I believe that every massage is an opportunity to experience pleasure, tension relief, pain reduction and self-awareness. A massage with me can be a gentle flowing session that puts you into a deep state of full-body relaxation OR a communicative working session where we improve specific problem areas using therapeutic stretching and deep tissue techniques OR a session that combines all of the above! I use my knowledge and creativity to maximize the health benefits that you receive with each treatment. I love people, communication, and practically every kind of bodywork and movement. These passions, as well as my longstanding yoga and meditation practices inform my ever-growing awareness of the complex and beautiful ways our minds and bodies are connected. In particular, my own experience healing from chronic pain issues has given me insight into the unique struggles some of us face un-learning habitual movement and tension patterns that no longer serve us. I have first-hand experience with the body’s extraordinary ability to heal and change, especially when patience and attention are brought to the process. I believe that we all have the capacity for great joy, liberation and health within us. I feel privileged to help others along their healing journeys. I live in Burlington, VT with my son Leif and my husband Victor, a pianist and piano teacher. I enjoy music, art, conversation, friends and family, hiking, kayaking, whole foods, literature and poetry, gardening, learning new things, and savoring life itself!
