Therapy rarely looks like a straight line from “I’m struggling” → “I started therapy” → “I feel better.” 🌿
Some weeks you may feel like you’re making incredible progress. Other weeks you may feel triggered, fall back into old patterns, question what you’ve learned, or wonder if you’re moving backward.
That doesn’t mean therapy isn’t working.
Real growth can look like:
💚 Learning a new skill—and forgetting to use it
💚 Recognizing a pattern you didn’t notice before
💚 Sitting with an emotion instead of avoiding it
💚 Getting triggered—and recovering differently
💚 Setting a boundary and then questioning yourself
💚 Feeling better and still having difficult days
💚 Practicing the same skill until it finally starts to feel natural
Progress isn’t about never struggling again. It’s about developing greater understanding, self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and confidence in how you respond when struggles happen.
There may be loops, setbacks, breakthroughs, and plenty of “wait...what am I supposed to do with this?” moments along the way. That’s part of the process.
🌱 Real growth isn’t linear—and that’s okay.
