I am alive today because, in someone else’s darkest hour, a hero said yes.
After being sick for nearly three excruciating years—after spending the final weeks of October 2021 in hospice care, watching the sands of my life run out—I received the call that saved me on October 29th. In the early morning hours of October 30th, 2021, I was given a second chance at breath, at love, and at living. I am only able to write these words because of the miraculous, selfless gift of organ donation.
I am not a political person. I actively stay away from politics. But I cannot—and will not—stay silent when human lives are hanging in the balance.
Robert F Kennedy! You Sir have blood on your hands. I pray God has mercy on your soul, because the decision you have made is flat-out wrong. It is built entirely on a foundation of dangerous misinformation, reckless assumptions, and a total disregard for the actual facts. Real people are going to pay for this decision with their very lives.
And to the media: you are not innocent.
Your irresponsible reporting has fanned the flames of rumor and sensationalism, amplifying falsehoods instead of doing the work of sharing life-saving facts. By feeding the public twisted narratives, you have deepened the scars around organ donation
—a system that already fights uphill against fear and misunderstanding. When you choose clicks and controversy over truth, you become complicit in destroying trust.
As an Organ Recipient with a past (I'm pretty sure we all have one), I know what it feels like to be judged based on misrepresented facts. I know what it’s like to have your story twisted and to be seen as something completely opposite of who you truly are. It is cruel and painful, and it often leaves marks that are hard to come back from,
I Know The Strength of this organization, and it is stronger than you will ever know because I know who's holding it up, and it's hundreds of transplant recipients and donor families. Its Myself 56 yr old grandmother of 9, whose son just graduated high school. I never thought I would get to see it. It’s another man, a liver recipient and grandfather and husband who gets to continue to play softball and coach soccer for his grandkids. There are hundreds of thousands of us who received a second chance at life because of organ donation; this decision is causing the loss of human life.
Every single day, people of all ages are on transplant lists holding onto a thread of hope. That hope is what keeps a mother fighting, a child holding on, a spouse praying, and a friend believing in tomorrow. Because of this decision, that hope is being shattered. Real human beings—someone’s child, parent, spouse, sibling, or best friend—will die needlessly.
Organ donation is not a political pawn. It is the ultimate act of human love, compassion, and redemption. It is the bridge between absolute tragedy and an extraordinary miracle.
We cannot allow lies, reckless leadership, and irresponsible reporting to tear down a system that saves thousands of lives every year.
The facts matter. The truth matters. And above all, the lives of those waiting on that list matter. It is time to RISE UP! Recipients, Donor Families!'
Stand for truth. Stand for facts. If you don’t know all the Facts, find them; EDUCATE YOURSELF. I stand with the Network for Hope, because I stand for Human Life.
Ask any transplant recipient in our tri-state area if they trust The Network for Hope; for the Majority of us we would not be here to answer that question without them!
