We managed to dodge the rain today as we enjoyed our Sherwood Oaks Resident and Family Festival!

Thank you to Little C’s Concessions, Debby from The Balloon Guy Company, DJ Denny and Mary Beth, and all of the Cruisers that joined us today!

We were happy to see everyone connecting and celebrating the day!

Residents enjoyed a Pig Roast with a Luau theme at the Sherwood Oaks Park!

The chefs “carved” out an delicious menu and everyone had some tropical fun!

Entertainment was provided by the 56 East Band.

Team building is a very important to us at Sherwood Oaks and it snows in many different ways.

It allows us to align our goals, boost our communication with each other, and offer positive vibes to our workplace morale.

Here are a few ways that you will see teamwork in action at Sherwood Oaks:

Laura, LSE Asst., connected with our skilled staff to share pictures of their dogs for Dog Day of Summer.

Jesse , Food Service Manager, trained upcoming student food service team members with fun activities on how to serve food, diet knowledge, and overall presentation of the dining experience at SWO.

Mike, housekeeper, recently received the “You Rock” award for his positive energy and connection within his role.

Madison, LSE Asst.,and Tracy, Senior Professional CNA , cultivating soil in the Oak Grove wandering garden for resident planting.

Amanda , Dining Service Director, recently got married and we celebrated with support from team members.

Although we are not “family” in the sense of the word , we are fortunate to share caring and compassion with not just our residents, but each other as well, and strive to build “bridges of joy” at Sherwood Oaks!

Now that’s Teamwork!

“Got Meatballs?”

Residents had the opportunity to try 5 different meatball types at the Meatball Festival ! (organized by catering manager Jesse and team)

The infamous Hank Edwardo entertained on his accordion while everyone food and conversation.

There was also a resident raffle for some great gifts to win!

Healthcare Happenings!

We hosted the amazing Pittsburgh Ballroom Dancers and even had a few staff and residents join in on a few dances.

Resident Artists made some expressive “cat” creations.

We had our 4th centenarian celebration this month and LSE team member ,Laura, made a wreath for this residents’ special occasion.
