Feeling anxious? Tap with Kolby for less than 2 minutes and notice what shifts.

EFT tapping, also known as Emotional Freedom Techniques, is a simple mind-body practice that combines gentle tapping on acupressure points with supportive language.

At Rising Up, EFT is one of the practical skills we teach because anxiety does not just live in your thoughts. It often shows up in your body as tension, restlessness, racing thoughts, shallow breathing, emotional overwhelm, or a sense that something is wrong even when you cannot fully name why.

For many adults, that anxiety may be connected to deeper experiences like:

• Trauma
• Grief and loss
• Depression
• Postpartum anxiety or depression
• Family stress related to addiction or recovery
• Chronic overwhelm
• Nervous system exhaustion

EFT can help create a moment of pause when emotions feel intense.

It may support you in:

• Calming the nervous system
• Reducing emotional intensity
• Staying present instead of spiraling
• Softening shame, fear, or self-judgment
• Practicing self-acceptance while anxiety is present

This is not about forcing anxiety to disappear.

It is about teaching your body:
“I can feel this, and I can still be okay.”

At Rising Up, we support adults across Massachusetts through virtual IOP care that combines evidence-based therapy with holistic, nervous-system-informed tools like EFT, mindfulness, breathwork, EMDR, CBT, and DBT.

Try the tapping exercise in this video and check in with yourself before and after.

When weekly therapy is not enough, it can feel incredibly frustrating.

You may understand your patterns.
You may know your triggers.
You may have talked through your experiences.

But you still do not feel different.

You might still be overthinking everything, reacting emotionally, shutting down, struggling with anxiety or depression, or carrying grief and trauma that continues to show up in daily life.

That does not mean therapy has failed.

It may mean you need more support, more consistency, and more real-time practice than one session per week can provide.

In this article, we explain how Intensive Outpatient Programs and virtual group therapy can help people move forward when they feel stuck.

At Rising Up, IOP offers:

• A few hours of therapy per day
• Multiple days per week
• Virtual group therapy
• Individual support
• Skills you can practice in real time
• A structured, time-limited path toward change

For many people, virtual group programs become one of the most meaningful parts of treatment.

They realize they are not the only one.
They learn from others.
They practice communication and emotional regulation in real time.
They feel supported in a way that is different from individual therapy alone.

And because the program is virtual, adults across Massachusetts can access care from home while still staying connected to their real lives.

If you or someone you love has been feeling stuck in weekly therapy, this article may help explain what the next level of support can look like.

There’s a point many people reach in therapy where something starts to feel… stuck. You understand your patterns. You’ve talked through your experiences. You know why you feel the way you do. But you’re not actually feeling different. You might still be: overthinking everything feeling

When you enter a higher level of mental health care, you should not feel like you are being passed from person to person with no one seeing the full picture.

At Rising Up, you are supported by a coordinated team.

That means your care is not resting on one provider alone. You have people looking at different parts of your experience and helping them work together.

Our team includes:

• Founder-level leadership that stays closely connected to the program
• A Clinical Director who guides the clinical team and supports quality care
• A board-certified psychiatrist who helps oversee psychiatric treatment and medication needs
• Licensed therapists who provide group and individual support
• Group facilitators who help create connection, engagement, and accountability
• A case manager who helps with real-life needs like insurance, resources, provider coordination, and support outside the program

Because healing is not one-dimensional.

You may need therapy.
You may need psychiatric support.
You may need help coordinating care.
You may need resources that make daily life feel more manageable.
You may need a group where you feel seen and understood.

At Rising Up, our goal is to make care feel connected, comprehensive, and easier to navigate.

We support adults across Massachusetts who are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, postpartum mental health challenges, family stress related to addiction or recovery, and emotional overwhelm.

Big news from Rising Up.

We’re proud to share that Rising Up has earned accreditation from Joint Commission.

This milestone reflects our commitment to providing safe, high-quality mental health care for adults across Massachusetts who need more support than weekly therapy can provide.

Joint Commission accreditation is a nationally recognized symbol of quality and safety in health care. Earning this recognition means Rising Up has undergone a rigorous review process and demonstrated compliance with nationally developed standards focused on safe, effective, and high-quality patient care.

For our clients, families, therapists, and referral partners, this accreditation represents something deeply meaningful:

A continued commitment to doing this work with care, structure, accountability, and integrity.

At Rising Up, we provide holistic Intensive Outpatient Program and Partial Hospitalization Program services for adults navigating trauma, grief, postpartum mental health, anxiety, depression, emotional overwhelm, and life transitions.

Our approach combines evidence-based care with mind-body practices, group support, case management, psychiatric support, and collaboration with existing providers.

We are so grateful to our team, whose dedication made this possible. Their heart, clinical skill, and commitment to continuous improvement are at the center of everything we do.

Anxiety doesn’t just live in your thoughts.

It shows up in your body.
It interrupts your sleep.
It makes your heart race.
It pulls you into “what if” spirals.
It can affect your relationships, your work, and your ability to feel present in your own life.

And for many people, even when they understand their anxiety, it still doesn’t fully shift.

That’s because anxiety is not just something you “figure out.” It is often something your nervous system is doing automatically.

In our latest article, we’re talking about how energy psychology can support lasting anxiety relief by working with the mind, body, and nervous system together.

At Rising Up, we use approaches like:

• Emotional Freedom Techniques, also known as EFT tapping
• EMDR
• CBT
• DBT
• Mindfulness, meditation, and breathwork

These tools help people do more than understand their anxiety. They help the body begin to experience something different.

For many clients, this is where real change starts.

If you or someone you love has felt stuck in anxiety, overwhelmed by symptoms, or like weekly therapy alone is not enough, this article may help explain another path forward.

Anxiety doesn’t just affect how you think. It affects how you live. It shows up at night, when your mind won’t slow down. It shows up in your body, as tension, restlessness, or a racing heart. It shows up in your relationships, your work, your ability to be present. And over time, it can start t

One of the first things every client does at Rising Up is create a safety plan.

Not because we assume they are unsafe.
Not because they are “in crisis.”
But because support should already be in place before a hard moment happens.

A safety plan is simply a personalized guide that helps clients answer questions like:

• How do I know I’m starting to struggle?
• What coping strategies help me regulate?
• Who can I contact for support?
• What resources are available to me?

At Rising Up, every client creates one during intake.

Why?

Because symptoms can shift quickly during periods of grief, trauma, depression, anxiety, or emotional overwhelm. Having a plan ahead of time reduces isolation and helps clients access support earlier.

Most importantly, making safety plans part of standard care helps normalize support instead of attaching shame to it.

It is proactive, compassionate, and rooted in the belief that everyone deserves support before things become unmanageable.

If you are a therapist in Massachusetts looking for a collaborative, trauma-informed IOP or PHP referral option, or someone exploring structured mental health support for yourself, Rising Up is here to help.

You cannot pour endlessly from an exhausted mind and body.

At some point, burnout stops being emotional and becomes physiological.

In this video, Kathleen Flannery, staff therapist at Rising Up IOP, speaks honestly about emotional depletion, nervous system exhaustion, and why self-care is not optional when it comes to mental health.

When people are chronically stressed, overwhelmed, anxious, depressed, or emotionally overloaded, their brain and body begin running on survival energy. Eventually, there is simply less capacity available for patience, connection, emotional regulation, and daily functioning.

As Kathleen explains, the brain is an organ—and like every organ in the body, it requires support, rest, regulation, nourishment, and recovery in order to function well.

At Rising Up IOP, we help clients understand that burnout is not weakness. Emotional exhaustion is not failure. These are signs that the nervous system has been carrying too much for too long.

Our trauma-informed intensive outpatient program in Massachusetts combines therapy, holistic modalities, nervous system regulation tools, mindfulness, and whole-person support to help clients rebuild emotional resilience and reconnect with themselves.

You deserve support before you completely run out of energy.

Therapy doesn’t only happen during the one hour someone spends in session each week.

Healing happens in the moments in between, too.

At Rising Up IOP, case management is about far more than paperwork or referrals—it’s about advocacy, connection, accountability, and helping clients build a life that supports long-term mental health and recovery.

In this video, Dawn Nardi, our Senior Case Manager, explains why relationship-building is such an important part of treatment. Many clients navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, or emotional overwhelm need support creating routines, accessing resources, understanding their needs, and reconnecting with their goals.

That’s where comprehensive case management makes such a difference.

At Rising Up, we meet clients where they are emotionally, mentally, and practically—and we help them move toward where they want to go. Through virtual group programs, ongoing support and whole-person care, clients feel less alone and more empowered to create sustainable change.

This is the kind of support many people wish existed sooner.

Many people struggling with anxiety, trauma, emotional overwhelm, or chronic stress feel trapped in survival mode—and sometimes talking alone isn’t enough to calm the body.

That’s why Rising Up IOP teaches EFT tapping as part of our holistic mental health approach.

In this video, Clinical Director Kolby Andrade explains how tapping works by using acupressure points to help signal safety to the nervous system. When paired with grounding affirmations, EFT tapping can help reduce emotional distress, regulate the body, and create a greater sense of calm.

One of the most powerful parts of tapping is its accessibility. Clients can use it anywhere, anytime—whether they are mildly stressed or navigating intense emotional activation.

At Rising Up IOP, we believe healing happens through both the mind and the body. That’s why our intensive outpatient program in Massachusetts integrates trauma-informed therapy with nervous system regulation tools, mindfulness practices, holistic modalities, and experiential healing approaches.

Learning how to regulate the nervous system is life-changing for many clients navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, and emotional dysregulation.
