You don’t need to feel guilty for taking care of yourself.
It’s not selfish.
It’s necessary for your well-being, relationships, and ability to show up fully in your life.

Taking care of yourself includes:
🎈 Setting boundaries to protect your energy.
🎈 Saying no to gatherings that feel overwhelming or draining.
🎈 Leaving events early when you’ve reached your limit.
🎈 Asking for support when you need it.
🎈 Delegating tasks instead of doing everything yourself.
🎈 Needing personal space to reset and recharge.
🎈 Taking breaks without having to “earn” them.
🎈 Practicing self-soothing when emotions feel intense.
🎈 Honouring your feelings, even when others don’t understand them.

These are signs that you’re listening to yourself, respecting your limits, and building a more sustainable way of living.

At Blue Sky Learning, our neurodiversity-affirming therapists and coaches support you in letting go of guilt, setting boundaries, and caring for your needs in ways that feel safe, valid, and empowering.

ADHD is often misunderstood, and many individuals with ADHD are misdiagnosed before receiving accurate support.

Common reasons people with ADHD are misdiagnosed include:

🎈 Co-occurring conditions hide ADHD
🎈 Overlooked in high-achieving adults
🎈 Gender bias in diagnostic criteria
🎈 Dismissal of self-reports
🎈 Lack of clinician training
🎈 Struggles are seen as a phase
🎈 Emotional dysregulation is seen as anxiety
🎈 Exhaustion seen as depression
🎈 Masking hides traits

These misdiagnoses aren’t the fault of the individual. They reflect systemic gaps in understanding, assessment, and recognition of neurodivergence, especially in adults, women, and gender-diverse people.

At Blue Sky Learning, our neurodiversity-affirming therapists and coaches help you navigate diagnostic challenges, recognize patterns, and get support that meets your unique neurodivergent needs.
Together, we can shift from “Why can’t I get it right?” to “How can I get the understanding and strategies I need to thrive?”
