As Summer Winds Down… 💛
The backpacks are coming out, routines are changing, and a new school year is just around the corner.
For some kids, that brings excitement. For others, it brings worry, big feelings, sleep changes, irritability, or anxiety.
And sometimes, we see the behavior before we recognize the emotion underneath it.
As parents, this is a good time to slow down and check in:
đź’› How is my child feeling about the transition?
đź’› Are they getting enough sleep?
đź’› Are expectations changing faster than they can adjust?
💛 Have I made space for them to talk—not just about school, but about how they’re feeling?
The transition back to school doesn't have to be perfect.
Connection before correction.
Routine before overwhelm.
And compassion before expectations.
A little extra patience during this transition can go a long way.
At Healing Moments Counseling, we believe supporting mental health means paying attention to the whole child—not just grades, behavior, or performance.
A new school year is a new beginning. Let's help our kids enter it feeling supported, understood, and ready—not pressured to have it all together. 💛
