The version of healing most people are sold is elimination.
Find the darkness. Root it out. Work through it until it is gone. Become the clean, integrated, fully resolved version of yourself where nothing difficult remains.

But that's not what actually happens. And I think deep down most people who have done real work already know this.
The anger doesn't disappear. It becomes information instead of reflex.

The fear doesn't vanish. It stops being the one making decisions.
The grief doesn't go away. It stops being the only thing in the room.

The shadow — whatever yours is called, whatever shape it takes, whatever it says when the lights go out — it doesn't get eliminated. It gets understood. And something about being understood changes its relationship to you.

It stops being something you're running from. It becomes something you're in conversation with.
That shift — from war to dialogue — is the actual work. Not the removal of the difficult parts. The negotiation with them. The development of enough inner authority that you can hear the darkness speak and still choose your own direction.

Now we discuss strategies.

That's it. That's the whole thing.
The monster stayed.
But you learned to be the one who decides.

What if being “too nice” is quietly harming your body? Always saying yes. Always smiling. Always staying silent just to avoid conflict. It looks kind on the outside… but inside, your body may be under constant stress. When you keep pushing down anger or frustration, your brain stays on high alert. Stress hormones keep rising. Inflammation builds. Over time, this can weaken your immune system and has been linked to serious conditions, even autoimmune diseases. Here is the shocking part. Many women are raised to put others first and ignore their own needs, and they make up most autoimmune cases. Being kind is good. But losing yourself is not. When was the last time you chose yourself without guilt? 💛

Men’s hormones tend to follow a daily (circadian) rhythm, with key hormones like testosterone rising in the morning and tapering off by evening. This creates a relatively stable, repeatable pattern that supports consistent energy, strength, and recovery day to day. Because of this predictability, most training programs and work schedules have historically been designed around a steady output model—assuming similar performance capacity every day.

In contrast, women’s hormones fluctuate across the menstrual cycle (about 28 days), with shifting levels of estrogen and progesterone influencing energy, metabolism, mood, and physical performance. There are phases where strength, endurance, and recovery are naturally higher, and others where the body needs more rest and support. When these natural variations are ignored and women are expected to maintain constant intensity, it can contribute to fatigue, reduced performance, and a greater sense of burnout.

Your feelings will come! And what matters is what we do with; how we handle; and where we direct those feelings.

There are healthy spaces for the unhealthy feelings we sometimes experience as a result of trauma - or healing from trauma. Choose to seek them out.

Healing will make you angry.

And if it hasn’t yet, you probably haven’t gone deep enough. 🔥

There is a rage that lives beneath survival.

A rage that builds when you realize how much of your life was shaped by someone else’s dysfunction.

How much of your personality is a byproduct of having to survive chaos.

How many of your choices were never really choices at all — just coping mechanisms disguised as decisions.

When you finally see it, it’s not pretty.

But it’s necessary.

Because anger is clarity.

Anger is boundaries forming in real time.

Anger is the nervous system screaming, “I’m not safe yet.”

Let yourself feel it.

It’s not the end of healing.

Sometimes, it’s the beginning.
