I want to introduce you to something called the Landmark Health Study
because it's one of the most important pieces of research in the supplement space and most people have never heard of it.
Researchers tracked thousands of real people over more than 30 years, comparing three distinct groups: long-term Shaklee supplement users, people using other brands of multivitamins, and people who took no supplements at all. The question at the heart of the study was a simple one that the supplement industry rarely has the courage to actually answer: do supplements make a meaningful difference to real health outcomes in real people over real time?
The results were not subtle, and they didn't require a statistician to interpret.
84% of Shaklee users rated their own health as very good to excellent, compared to 56% of people taking other multivitamins, and just 49% of people taking no supplements at all. That is a 35-point gap between the top and bottom group, measured on the exact same scale, and it holds up across decades of follow-up data.
Over the next week we'll be breaking down exactly what drove that gap across 8 different health categories, and as women navigating midlife, every single one of them is directly relevant to where we are and where we want to be going.
