Good Samaritan Hospice, a mission of Concordia Lutheran Ministries, is seeking a compassionate, full-time registered nurse liaison to help patients and families navigate one of life's most important decisions.

As a Hospice RN Liaison, you'll meet with patients and families who are considering hospice care, guide them through the transition, provide clinical assessments, answer questions and assist with admissions when needed. You'll also build strong relationships with hospitals, referral sources and community providers to ensure seamless access to hospice services.

This full-time position offers no evenings, weekends or holidays, allowing you to make a meaningful difference while maintaining work-life balance.

🎓 Today, we’re congratulating Leslie Shaeffer, benefits coordinator with Concordia Visiting Nurses’ Cabot branch, who recently earned a graduate certificate in human resources management from Southern New Hampshire University!

Concordia was proud to support Leslie through our tuition reimbursement program as she took this next step in her professional development. Earning her certificate took time and dedication as she balanced work, family life and coursework during evenings and weekends.

Leslie shared, “I started working toward my certificate in January 2025. The program was scheduled to take a year, with an expected graduation date of Feb. 1, 2026. However, in May 2025, I found out I was pregnant! Balancing school and pregnancy was difficult, but it was also incredibly rewarding. I was preparing to welcome our much-anticipated daughter into the world while continuing to work toward my career goals.

“The instructors and everyone involved in the program were so helpful. My adviser, Linsey, reached out to me multiple times throughout the term to make sure I was successful in every part of the program. I would recommend SNHU to anyone! I look forward to using my certification and continuing to grow within the benefits field.”

Concordia Missions recently partnered with Armstrong County Action Partnership (ACCAP) to help support individuals and families struggling to meet their needs. 💙

A collaborative donation from Concordia Haven residents and the Concordia Visiting Nurses Cabot team amounted to three pallets of food and essential items!

💡 Did you know ACCAP supports 16 food banks across Armstrong County, with additional weekly pop-up distributions every Friday at its warehouse in Kittanning?

💡 Did you also know ACCAP supports a Senior Box Program that helps improve access to nutritious food for low-income adults age 60 and older?

💡 Finally, did you know YOU can make a difference for neighbors experiencing food insecurity? Everyone can play a part in supporting our community by volunteering, donating food and essential items or simply checking in on a neighbor who may need a helping hand.

Yes, in many cases, it does!

Medicare may cover home health care when it is ordered by a physician, the patient meets Medicare’s definition of homebound and care is provided by a Medicare-certified home health agency.

When Medicare’s eligibility requirements are met, covered home health services may come at no cost to the patient.
