Congratulations to Ashley on earning her Certified Paraoptometric Coder (CPOC) credential through the American Optometric Association!

Ashley has been an integral part of our team for many years. After spending years working directly with patients as a scribe, she transitioned into our in-house billing department two years ago, where her knowledge, dedication, and attention to detail have been an incredible asset to both our staff and patients.

Even with her billing responsibilities, Ashley continues to help care for patients by assisting our doctors and scribes on Tuesday evenings when needed.

Did you know that free medical, dental, and vision clinics are available right here in Michigan?

This past weekend, a couple members of our team volunteered with the Remote Area Medical (RAM) Clinic in Big Rapids. RAM provides free healthcare services to individuals and families who may otherwise face barriers to receiving care.

Events like these are made possible through the generosity of healthcare professionals, students, and community volunteers who donate their time to help others.

Whether you need care yourself or know someone who does, RAM is a wonderful resource serving communities across the country. Learn more about their mission and upcoming clinics at RAMUSA.org.

We’re excited to welcome Dr. Brooke Castillo back to Advanced Optometry this summer!

Many of our patients may remember her from her earlier years working in our office as a scribe, and more recently from her spring internship while completing her education at the Michigan College of Optometry at Ferris State University.

This spring, she officially graduated and earned her Doctor of Optometry degree, and we could not be more proud to see her return to our office as Dr. Castillo, O.D. It has been so special watching her journey come full circle.

We’re thrilled to have her back with our team for a few days this summer, and we know many familiar faces will be excited to see her again!

If you’d like to be scheduled during one of the days she’ll be filling in with us, please give our office a call, we’d love to get you on her schedule!
