Friendly reminder that Dr. Fedor and his staff will be in office today (October 15th) starting at noon

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we adjusted our office hours over the past two weeks to make time for our team to learn together!

Last week, we attended the Michigan Optometric Association’s Fall Seminar in Lansing, and today we took part in an Essilor Experts Workshop. Both were filled with opportunities to learn about advances in eye care, lens technology, and ways to better support our patients’ vision needs.

Taking time away from the office requires some planning, and we know changes to our hours can affect your schedules, too. We appreciate your flexibility as we invest in the knowledge and skills we bring back to our everyday work.

We’re coming back with plenty to discuss, share, and build on as a team. Behind all that learning is the same goal: providing thoughtful, personal care for the community we’re so grateful to serve.

As we enter October, we say a heartfelt goodbye to Dr. McDonald, who retired from clinical practice on September 30 after more than 27 years with Advanced Optometry.

It’s hard to put into words how much he has meant to our practice. Since joining us in 1999, Dr. McDonald has helped shape who we are through his dedication to his patients, his thoughtful approach to care, and the knowledge and experience he shared with our team. Over those years, he became a familiar face to generations of local families and an important part of so many people’s lives.

For those of us who have worked alongside him, his retirement brings a mix of emotions. We will miss his presence in the office, the opportunity to learn from him, and the everyday moments that make a team feel like family. His influence will stay with Advanced Optometry long after his last day seeing patients.

As much as we will miss him, we are so happy for him as he begins this next chapter, with more time for family, grandchildren, and the things he loves.

Dr. McDonald, thank you for the years of care, guidance, and heart you have given to this practice and our community. You have made a lasting difference, and we wish you so much happiness in retirement!

A little heads-up as you plan your week! Advanced Optometry will have a few schedule changes this week and next as our team takes time for continuing education.

• Tuesday, October 6: Closing early at 5 p.m.
• Wednesday, October 7, and Thursday, October 8: Closed for the Michigan Optometric Association’s annual meeting.
• Tuesday, October 13: Closed for an Essilor Experts workshop.

Learning together helps us bring new knowledge and ideas back to the care we provide every day. We appreciate your understanding while our team takes part in these opportunities!

If you need to pick up glasses or contact lenses, or have something you’d like to discuss with our staff, please keep these dates in mind. Thank you for planning ahead with us!
