Join me in continued prayer for CiCi and Will Steward. Their beautiful baby, Cile is the last remaining missing victim from Camp Mystic following the July 4th 2025 floods. We all saw the news feeds. We all hurt for the families. I couldn’t handle it. I was a fairly new girl-dad myself and the pain I felt for those families was blinding. I prayed and I prayed and I prayed, asking God what I could do to help. The answer was unavoidable. His answer was obvious in my dreams. His answer was obvious on billboards. His answer was obvious in scripture. His answer surrounded and convicted me. “Go there”. “Go help”. “Go do your part”. I couldn’t ignore it. So, July 17, 2025 Storm Shelters Near Me loaded up and headed straight to Texas. 18 hours, through the night with a Texas State of Emergency declaration that allowed us to legally avoid DOT scales or logbooks. I had no idea the sites and smells. The devastation was beyond comprehension. For me, imagining those poor babies out there all alone, at night, in a storm with water raging in some places more than 30’ above normal levels was heart piercing. Debris larger than some of our homes. Each scoop or movement with the excavator we were hoping to find a person who was missing while at the same time hoping that we wouldn’t. It was an oxymoronic situation. I am proud that we went there. I am proud that we helped. I will always feel good knowing we helped someone in their darkest time. I am proud of my faith in the Lord and I am grateful he lead me to help others. I ask you all to have that same faith and pray for the parents and families of those who perished, that they will find strength and clarity moving forward. I know precious Cile will be found one day. Hopefully, with continued prayer and searching, that day will be today.
