Dr. Ackerman had the privelege of attending the Emerald Coast Veterinary Conference recently. It was an excellent opportunity to learn from experts in many fields and meet with colleagues.

The classes she attended included Ophthalmology, Parasitology, Orthopedics, Cognitive Dysfunction, Feline Urinary issues and more.

"Continuing Education is both informative and fun! It is amazing how quickly things improve for the sake of the health and well-being of our patients. Opportunities like this are both valuable and enjoyable. It doesn't hurt to have the beach close by, also".

The 4th of July is a time for celebrating unless you are a canine. Many dogs don't do well with loud noises and are often frightened enough to run away or hide from the noise. We are happy to help ease the frighting situation. Sileo is easy to administer, just place the appropriate amount on the inside of their cheeks, and watch the magic work. 🌸Spring Allergies Are Starting to Show Up

As pollen levels rise in South Georgia, we start seeing more pets dealing with seasonal allergies. Just like people, dogs and cats can react to pollen, grass, and environmental allergens.

Common signs of allergies in pets include:

Many pet owners are surprised to learn that all it takes is one mosquito bite to transmit heartworm disease.

Mosquitos pick up microscopic heartworm larvae from infected animals and pass them to the next pet they bite.

That's why year-round prevention is so important. Even pets that spend most of their time indoors.
