CRCI Women's Program Director Highlights Recovery and Women's Wellness at Town of Leland Women's Healthcare Forum
LELAND, NC — Ashley Kidwell, Director of Programs for the Women's Program at CRCI, joined healthcare professionals and community leaders at the Town of Leland's Women's Healthcare Forum on June 3, 2026, to discuss the important connection between recovery, wellness, and women's health.
As an alcohol and drug counselor, Kidwell works directly with women throughout Brunswick County who are rebuilding their lives after addiction. During the forum, she shared insights into the challenges many women face during recovery and highlighted the importance of access to supportive services, treatment resources, and strong community connections.
The Women's Healthcare Forum brought together medical professionals and service providers from across the region to discuss issues affecting women at every stage of life. Through panel discussions and audience engagement, participants explored topics including maternity care, menopause, mental health, healthy aging, cardiovascular health, stroke prevention, and recovery support.
Kidwell emphasized that recovery is not simply about overcoming addiction, but also about helping women achieve long term physical, emotional, and social wellness. Her participation underscored the important role that recovery programs play in improving the overall health and quality of life of women and families throughout Brunswick County.
