🌾 Farm safety is important for every age and every season. Farms are busy places, and a few simple precautions can help prevent serious injuries.

Please remember:

👧 Keep a close eye on children around farmyards, equipment, and animals.

🚜 Stay clear of moving machinery and always keep a safe distance.

⚙️ Never bypass safety guards or protective equipment on tractors and other machinery.

🛣️ Slow down on rural roads and be alert for slow-moving farm equipment.

🧤 Wear the proper protective gear for the job, including sturdy footwear, gloves, and other safety equipment as needed.

Farm work is essential, but safety should always come first. Taking a few extra precautions can help protect you, your family, and everyone working around you.

🍂 Fall Prevention

Falls can happen to anyone, but they are especially common among older adults and can lead to serious injuries.

A few simple changes can help reduce the risk:

👟 Wear supportive, well-fitting shoes
🚶 Keep walkways and stairs clear of clutter
🪜 Use handrails when available
💡 Make sure hallways, stairs, and entrances are well lit
🧼 Clean up spills and slippery areas right away
🛁 Consider grab bars or non-slip mats in bathrooms

As we head into fall and eventually icy weather, it’s also a good time to start thinking about outdoor surfaces, steps, and sidewalks.

Small changes can make a big difference in preventing a fall and helping everyone stay safe and independent.

🎒 Backpack safety matters!

As students head back to school, carrying a backpack the right way can help prevent unnecessary back, neck, and shoulder pain.

A few simple reminders:

✅ Use both shoulder straps
✅ Keep the backpack light — ideally no more than 10–15% of a child’s body weight
✅ Pack heavier items closest to the back
✅ Adjust straps so the backpack fits snugly and doesn’t hang too low
✅ Watch for complaints of back, neck, or shoulder pain

Small changes can make a big difference in helping kids stay comfortable, safe, and ready to learn.

🤏Not looking for the full EMT Course, we will be running a concurrent Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) course; same time, same days, reduced price, with different curriculum requirements!

🩺Are you a Registered Nurse (RN) looking to give back to your community and volunteer on your local First Responder or Ambulance Service? We got you covered! We'll also have RN-to-EMT options for the course; condensed curriculum, skills/scenario days, and Field Experiences with local Ambulance Services, all with that beloved reduced price!

🚌 School bus safety is everyone’s responsibility. As students head back to school, a few simple reminders can help keep children safe getting on and off the bus each day.

Please remember:

🛑 Stop for flashing red lights and never pass a stopped school bus.
🚸 Stay back from the road while waiting for the bus.
👀 Look both ways before crossing and always watch for traffic.
✋ Wait for the driver’s signal before crossing in front of the bus.
📵 Stay alert and avoid distractions—for drivers, parents, and students alike.

A little extra caution can go a long way in preventing injuries and keeping our kids safe.

Let’s work together to make this school year a safe one for everyone in our community.

Thank you, Caledonia! ❤️🚑

We had a wonderful time visiting with everyone at National Night Out! Thank you to everyone who stopped by our ambulance, asked questions, and took the time to learn more about what we do.

Visitors had the opportunity to tour the ambulance, see the LUCAS Device and other equipment we use during cardiac arrests and patient transports, and get a closer look at some of the tools that help us provide emergency care when every second counts.

Community events like this are a great reminder that EMS is about more than responding to emergencies—it’s about building relationships, educating our neighbors, and being there when you need us most.

From all of us at Caledonia Ambulance, thank you for your support, your encouragement, and for making National Night Out such a great evening. We are honored to serve this incredible community. 💙🚑

🍎📚 Back-to-school means it’s time for all of us to slow down and stay alert.

As students return to classrooms, buses, crosswalks, and sidewalks become much busier. Whether you’re a driver, parent, or student, we all play a role in keeping our children safe.

Here are a few important reminders:

🚸 Use designated crosswalks and look both ways before crossing.

🚗 Slow down and obey school zone speed limits.

🎒 Wear backpacks correctly using both shoulder straps.

🚌 Stay well back from the road while waiting for the school bus, and never pass a stopped school bus with its stop arm extended and red lights flashing.

⛑️ Wear a properly fitted helmet when riding a bike or scooter.

📵 Put distractions away and stay focused, especially in school zones.

A little extra patience and awareness can help prevent injuries and keep everyone safe as another school year begins.

Let’s work together to make this a safe and successful school year for every student, family, and staff member in our community.

🚑 We’re excited to join our friends at the Caledonia Police Department and Caledonia Police Reserves for National Night Out!

National Night Out is a great opportunity to connect with local first responders, enjoy an evening with friends and neighbors, and celebrate the strong partnerships that help keep our community safe.

Whether you’re working outdoors, enjoying the pool or river, attending a ballgame, or spending time at the fair, remember to:

🧢 Wear a hat and UV-blocking sunglasses
💧 Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water
🌳 Take breaks in the shade, especially during the hottest part of the day

Sunburn and dehydration can happen quickly—even on cloudy days. Taking a few simple precautions can help you enjoy summer safely.
