This is a very common issue, especially for people who work at a computer, drive a lot, or perform any sort of repetitive tasks with the hand and arm; which leads to tight, overworked muscles. It can also be caused by muscles tightening up from aging. The good news is that it is easily relieved!

Many of my clients over the years have had surgery for this with little to no relief. The surgery involves cutting the retiniculum band that goes around the wrist. If the cause of the pain is from tight muscles...the surgery gets poor results.
