Although they only met physically in 1979 when Ruth and her daughter, Christine, visited America, they knew each other as well as any woman would know her own sister. During WWII, Nuremberg was bombed. To help family, Hilda’s homemade clothes and other food items were sent to Ruth and her family. Jesse David Wright, 34, of Latham, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family and friends. Jesse was born on October 20, 1991, in Kirksville, Missouri, to David Wright and Melissa (Collins) Wright. On July 18, 2015, he married the love of his life, Paige Hibdon, in Fortuna, Missouri. Together they built a life full of love, laughter, faith, and family.

Jesse attended Lineman School in Trenton, Georgia, where he began the career he was so proud of as a Journeyman Lineman. He spent many years with KIOWA Line Builders before continuing his journey with Ameren and was a proud member of IBEW Local 2. Along the way, Jesse gained more than coworkers, he gained lifelong brothers. The friendships and bonds he built through the line trade meant the world to him, and he carried those brotherhoods with pride and loyalty.

Above all else, Jesse was a man of strong faith. He loved the Lord deeply, had been baptized, and lived his life with a servant’s heart. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, never asking for anything in return. Whether it was family, a friend, or a stranger, Jesse showed up when people needed him most.

Jesse loved the outdoors and lived life to the fullest. You could find him hunting, fishing, riding horses ba****ck, or talking about anything gun related. He loved the rodeo life, livestock, and the simple joys that came with being outside. Jesse had a wild spirit, a fearless heart, and a personality larger than life. He was ornery in the best way, always cracking jokes and keeping everyone laughing. You never quite knew what he had up his sleeve next.

To know Jesse was to know his unforgettable bright blue eyes, his big grin, and the way he could make anyone’s day better just by being around. He was the life of every gathering, the friend everyone could count on, and the kind of man whose presence made people feel at home. Most importantly, Jesse loved his family with everything he had. Being a husband and father was his greatest pride and joy.

Jesse is survived by his loving wife, Paige Wright of the home; his children, Rowdy Darr Wright and Taci Paige Wright; his father, David Wright (Darla) of Belle, Missouri; his mother, Melissa Mitchell (Brent) of Macon, Missouri; sisters, Lauren Watson (Charles) of Callao, Missouri, and Mollie Butner (Braden) of Macon, Missouri; stepbrother, Michael Gladbach (Stephanie) of New Market, Alabama; stepsister, Samantha Buescher of Belle, Missouri; father and mother-in-law, John and Kam Hibdon of California, Missouri; sisters-in-law, Bailey Duvall (Kameron) of California, Missouri, and Jackie Dillon (Connor) of St. James, Missouri; Maternal Grandfather Jerry “Pop” Collin’s, and Paternal grandparents Beverly Wright and Seaton Hall; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members; and countless friends who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Martha Collins; paternal grandfather, Billy Darr Wright; and grandfather-in-law, Ike Hibdon.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 14, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Fortuna Baptist Church with funeral services beginning at 3:00 p.m. Officiating will be Pastor Brad Homan. Memorial contributions are suggested to Paige Wright for the children’s education fund.

In honor of Jesse, the family asks that you wear denim attire. Arrangements are under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services of California, Missouri.
