Today is International Overdose Awareness Day.
For 25 years, this day has given us an opportunity to remember the people we’ve lost to overdose, support those who are grieving, and come together to raise awareness and save lives.
The reality is, we wish we didn’t need a day like this. But we do.
Overdose can impact anyone, in any community. The good news is that there are ways to prevent it. By educating ourselves, having honest conversations, looking out for one another, and making life-saving resources accessible, we can help prevent more families from experiencing this kind of loss.
We need this day today. Our hope is that one day, we won’t.
