Fuel employees receive one paid volunteer day each year to give back to their communities. Recently, Account Manager Kyle Andrews used his day to volunteer at the Armed Forces Center with the Clark County Veterans Assistance Center (CCVAC) for their annual Stand Down.
Here’s what he had to say about the experience:
“Originally a military term for removing front-line troops from combat to rest during WW2, a group of Vietnam Veterans began using term ‘Stand Down’ in 1988 and developed a program that now functions as a community-based event, bringing health, housing and social services together in one safe location to support homeless and at-risk veterans. Every year an array of service providers, professionals and volunteers assemble to invest their time, resources and emotional energy into the Veteran community. From signing them up for healthcare, to assisting with employment opportunities, to providing food, clothes, haircuts and even cleaning the feet of Veterans. It was an honor to serve with this team, and I am greatly appreciative to Fuel for allowing me the opportunity to be involved in building our community.”
Thank you, Kyle, for making a difference and representing Fuel in the community!
