What is Ego State Therapy? 🌿✨

Ego State Therapy is based on the idea that we all have different “parts” of ourselves shaped by life experiences. Some parts may feel confident, while others may hold fear, pain, or stress.

In therapy, we identify and get to know these parts in a safe, guided way. You learn to notice when different “states” show up, understand what they need, and how they’re trying to protect you. Rather than fighting against these parts, we help them communicate and work together.

The therapist supports you in strengthening your “core Self” so you can respond to life with more balance and less internal conflict.

It can be especially helpful for trauma, anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges.

Healing isn’t about getting rid of parts of yourself—it’s about helping them feel heard and supported. ✨

✨NEW SERVICE✨

Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) — the gold standard treatment for OCD

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, also known as OCD, is more than being organized or liking things clean. People with OCD feel stuck in repetitive cycles of anxiety and compulsive behaviors that are unwanted, overwhelming, and time consuming.

In real life, OCD may look like:

- Intrusive thoughts, images, or sensations that are upsetting, scary, and unwanted

- Difficulty tolerating uncertainty or “what if” thoughts

- Seeking reassurance from others in order to feel okay

- Feeling afraid you may hurt someone, or yourself

- Repeating routines until they feel “just right”

- Feeling overly responsible for the safety of friends or family

- Avoiding certain places, objects, or situations out of fear

- Rechecking locks, appliances, or doors multiple times

- Mental compulsions such as counting, replaying events over and over again, and self-punishment

We’re excited to share that our therapist, Sarah, has recently completed specialized training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) — the gold standard treatment for OCD. Sarah is now offering support for individuals struggling with OCD symptoms and anxiety-related challenges.

ERP helps individuals gradually face their fears while learning how to reduce compulsions and regain confidence, freedom, and control in daily life.
If you or someone you love may be struggling with OCD, know that effective treatment is available and healing is possible.

If you’re inclined to help out a mental health advocate, here’s an option. I love humans who acknowledge and speak up about how hard it can be to be human. ❤️
