Mercury swims into Cancer this morning, time to get the tissues ready! Why? Because everything is moody in Cancer so a good cry is absolutely on the agenda. Why else? Because Mercury will retrograde here, meaning we're stuck with this planet/sign combo until August 9th. Seriously. Let's unpack: Cancer is the first of the three water signs - the most primitive expression of emotion and intuition. On the wheel, it represents early childhood, that time in life when your home and immediate family are your whole world, and the psychological condition of your primary caretakers is all-important. If you have a good experience here, you'll likely be set up for a smooth transition into adulthood. If not, you'll have a lot of emotional reverse engineering to do when you get older. Mercury through Cancer gives a voice to this part of your life experience. It puts language around feelings, and can therefore mark a time when we find it easier to speak our emotional truth. Mercury will make it all the way to 26 degrees of Cancer before he turns retrograde on June 29th. He will then backtrack down to 16 degrees, turning direct again on July 23rd. I know, I've been MIA. I promise, it's not because I'm going through a social media meltdown this time, the sky has genuinely been quiet for almost two weeks now! But that ends today - we are gifted with an expansive Sagittarius Full Moon early this morning (444 anyone?), just in time to close out the coldest, wettest month of May I can remember.

Sag is a sign that is ruled by Jupiter, and it seeks truth and freedom at all costs. Since Full Moons are about release and endings, this lunation could mark the culmination of a long journey, a tough learning process or quest for knowledge. You can trust that whatever you've seen at this point is the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. So if you are called to act under this Full Moon, you can do so with confidence - you've got the whole picture. But do take some time to reflect on what you've learned, because Sag is also a sign that rules our overall belief systems. And it is often the case that we espouse beliefs that aren't really ours. Maybe they were imprinted by our caregivers, maybe society pressures us to hold them out as our own, or maybe the school of hard knocks instilled them when we were young; whatever the case, we should always be on the lookout for our own inauthenticity. Belief systems aren't supposed to remain static throughout your life. We are meant to constantly evaluate them against our current reality, and update them accordingly. If you've learned something recently that cuts against a long-held belief, ask yourself whether it's time to release that belief in light of what you now know?

Our personal planets are on the move! In the span of less than 48 hours, all three of them will have changed signs. Mercury switched up on us yesterday, and Venus will dip into a new sign tonight (more on that in another post); but for now, it's Mars who is trying on some new digs. Unlike Mercury, whose move into Gemini benefitted us considerably, Mars into Ta**us is rather lackluster. Mars rules Aries, so he's been pretty happy these past six weeks. He is in detriment in Ta**us, however, so he'll be slowing to a crawl for the next six. Womp womp. Mars likes to pillage and plunder as he blazes through the Zodiac, but Ta**us simply won't allow his breakneck pace. Slow and steady wins the race in this deliberate and sensual sign. So pump the breaks, if you know what's good for you. Frustration will be a given while we saunter through this transit. Mars enters Gemini on June 28th. **us **usseason

Our winged messenger planet Mercury zips into Gemini this morning, returning to full strength for the first time in a long, long while. Gemini is one of two signs that Mercury rules (the other is Virgo), so he fires on all cylinders once he gets here. For the next little while, all things mercurial should come relatively easy: conversations, socialization, errands... anything and everything that benefits from mental agility will flow smoothly. This afternoon brings us a New Moon in the 25th degree of Ta**us. The New Moon in Ta**us provides us with a wonderful but quiet opportunity to be productive. Ta**us energy is determined, abundant, creative and sensual. The Bull lives through the five senses more than any other sign, and has one of the most peaceful but powerful demeanors in the Zodiac.
