Bill’s Rehabilitation Success Story! 🌟

When Bill arrived at the Neville Center at Fresh Pond, he required a Hoyer lift for transfers. Through hard work with our PT and OT teams, he progressed to walking with a walker, climbing two flights of stairs, and completing his daily activities.

“I couldn’t even stand or walk four weeks ago. I’m doing much better now. PT and OT are all fantastic. They ask me what my goals are and work towards that.”

Congratulations, Bill, on your amazing progress! 👏💙

Success starts with compassionate care, expert therapy, and a supportive team—and Tim's story says it all!

After completing his rehabilitation, Tim shared what made his recovery such a positive experience:

"The attitude of the people. All the staff were interested in me and were all very positive. Every place has its own culture, and the people here are friendly and genuinely care. I also learned to move in a balanced way."

When asked if he would return for rehab if needed, Tim didn't hesitate:

"Absolutely. I was here before after having both hips replaced, so I already had a positive impression. I received very good care. It truly feels like a community."

Thank you, Tim, for trusting us with your care. We're honored to have been part of your recovery journey and wish you continued health and success!

Congratulations to Nick on his incredible progress as he prepares to return home! 💙

Nick shared that one of the biggest reasons for his successful recovery was receiving physical and occupational therapy 5–6 days a week, with longer, more personalized therapy sessions than he had experienced with home health services.

He also credits speech therapy with teaching him an important lesson he'll continue using every day: to slow down, especially while eating, helping him stay safe and confident at home.

When asked if he would return for rehab if he ever needed it again, Nick didn't hesitate:

"Yes, this is the best rehab I've been to so far. The staff always kept their promise to update my sister, and the food was always great and served hot!"

We're honored to have been part of Nick's recovery journey and wish him continued health and success at home.

Celebrating June Burrowes' Incredible Recovery Journey! 💙

We're proud to recognize June Burrowes for the amazing progress she made during her rehabilitation journey.

"When I arrived, I had no feeling in my foot—it felt like rubber. Therapy helped me so much. All of the therapists were kind, understanding, and supportive."

When June first came to rehab, she needed the assistance of two people just to get into bed. Through determination, hard work, and the dedication of our therapy team, she regained her independence. Today, she can walk using a platform walker, dress herself, and use the restroom on her own.

When asked if she would return to us for rehabilitation if she ever needed it again, June shared:

"Yes. The staff is nice, understanding, courteous, and has so much patience."

Congratulations, June, on your remarkable recovery! Thank you for allowing us to be part of your journey back to independence. ❤️

🎉 Success Story Spotlight 🎉

After a fall, Diane was admitted to the Neville Center, where she participated in physical, occupational, and speech therapy to regain her strength and independence.

Today, Diane is excited to say, “I’m going home!” 🏡❤️

When asked what made her therapy journey successful, Diane shared:

“I worked hard in therapy to be able to discharge home. PT, OT, and speech all helped me to be able to get here.”

Diane also discovered the impact Parkinson’s disease had on her communication:

“I didn’t realize how much Parkinson’s had affected my speech until I got here.”

Through dedicated work with our speech therapy team and the Speak Out!® program, Diane made significant progress and will continue daily sessions after returning home.

We are so proud of Diane’s hard work, determination, and positive attitude. Congratulations, Diane, and best wishes as you continue your journey at home! 💙

From admission to discharge, Jim’s determination and hard work led to an incredible rehabilitation journey at The Neville Center.

When Jim arrived on March 20, 2026, he required a mechanical lift for all mobility and even found it difficult to roll in bed. With dedication and support from our skilled therapy and care teams, Jim made remarkable progress—walking 150 feet with a rolling walker by the time he was discharged on June 5, 2026.

“Everyone is great and does a wonderful job. The therapists worked to help me progress, and I’ve made progress because of all of you showing me the way. There are a lot of great people here, and I will miss all of you.”

Jim especially enjoyed participating in therapy and life enrichment groups, including boxing and gardening as part of his occupational therapy program. “I loved boxing and punching the bag!” he shared, while building strength and confidence along the way.

Congratulations, Jim, on your hard-earned success. We wish you all the best on your continued journey!

🎉 Congratulations to Craig on his incredible rehabilitation journey at the Neville Center! 🎉

After being admitted for skilled physical, occupational, and nursing care following a hospitalization for left lower extremity pain, atrial fibrillation, a pulmonary embolism, and a wound infection, Craig faced significant mobility challenges. Upon arrival, he required assistance from two people for transfers, was unable to walk, and needed help with daily activities.

Through hard work, determination, and the support of our dedicated rehabilitation team, Craig made remarkable progress. He achieved independence with all activities of daily living, completed transfers and mobility independently, and even climbed 34 stairs before discharge!

When asked what made his rehab successful, Craig shared:
"Following the instructions of the therapists and nursing staff. I got to see different techniques from all the different therapists, and I learned to take my time and avoid making any sudden or unsafe moves."

Would he return to Neville Center if he needed rehabilitation again?
"Absolutely. Rehab, nursing, and the dietitian all worked together as a team. As a unit, they were excellent to me."

We are honored to have been part of Craig's recovery and wish him continued health and success!

Marie came to the Neville Center on May 6 following a hospitalization at Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital after a fall resulted in a right femur fracture requiring surgery. When she arrived, Marie needed assistance from two people for transfers, could only walk 10 feet, and required help with all activities of daily living.

Through hard work and determination, Marie partnered with our Physical and Occupational Therapy teams to regain her independence. Occupational Therapy introduced adaptive equipment and durable medical equipment to support self-care, while Physical Therapy focused on strengthening, mobility, car transfer training, and stair navigation.

By discharge, Marie had progressed to independence and was able to return home safely.

When asked what made her rehab a success, Marie shared:
"Rehab with my leg and exercise. Car training and doing stairs with Elise—she motivated me, and everything was good."

Asked if she would return to Neville Center for rehab in the future, Marie said:
"Yes, everything was great—the food, nursing, and rehab."

We are proud of Marie's remarkable progress and grateful to have been part of her recovery journey. Congratulations, Marie! 💙
