Some Sundays are for slow mornings, long cups of coffee, and nowhere to be.... And Some Sundaysโฆ you wake up already mentally carrying Monday, three problems have sprouted six more, the plans need plans, the budget needs miracles, and Mama realizes she's only halfway through the day. ๐ฎโ๐จ๐
So today, we made brunch...
Because when I can't solve everything at once, I can still come back to something simple: a warm kitchen, little hands eager to help, food made with intention, and a table where we can sit together for a moment.
One of the ways I love my family, and increasingly, one of the ways I'm learning to love myself, is through nourishment.
Not just feeding everybody... But Real Life Nourishment.
You know, the kind that says, we're tired, but we're here!
There's a lot waiting for us, but it can wait long enough to eat. We are still worthy of sweetness in the middle of hard things.
Today's little bit of sweetness: Brown Sugar Cinnamon Sourdough Discard Waffles, strawberries, and crispy chicken because Sunday afternoon said BRUNCH. ๐ง๐๐
So, Agbara Roots family... how was your weekend? Did you rest, cook, garden, gather, catch up, completely abandon the to-do listโฆ or simply make it through? ๐ค
Whatever kind of weekend you had, I hope you find one small way to nourish yourself before Monday arrives.
Some roots are inherited. Others are reclaimed. ๐ฟ Agbara Roots.
