💛 MESSAGES OF HOPE — ART GROUP TONIGHT! 💛

Sometimes the right words, found at just the right moment, can make a difference. ✨

Join us tonight for a special Messages of Hope Art Group as we create small, uplifting works of art filled with encouragement, kindness, strength, and HOPE.

🎨 Tonight | 6:30–8:00 PM

Our creations will be placed throughout the Center for Hope and Healing offices — tucked into spaces where someone might unexpectedly find the message they need that day.

❤️ You matter.
🌿 Keep going.
💛 You are stronger than this moment.
✨ There is still hope.
🌻 The world is better with you in it.

Come create something beautiful that may brighten a difficult moment for someone else.

Create a message. Leave a little hope. You never know who might need to find it. 💛

September at the Center for Hope and Healing is filled with opportunities to connect, learn, move, create, and heal. We invite you to explore our calendar of events and consider trying something that supports your emotional wellness—or sharing it with someone who may need it.

September also holds special significance as both Su***de Prevention Awareness Month and Recovery Month. These observances remind us that struggles are often hidden, recovery is possible, and hope can be strengthened through connection, compassion, and support.

This month, we challenge you to raise your own awareness:

💜 Learn the warning signs of su***de and how to respond.
💙 Check in on someone—even the person who always seems “fine.”
💜 Become more mindful of the language you use when discussing mental health, addiction, and recovery.
💙 Listen to understand rather than judge or immediately offer solutions.
💜 Learn about the resources available in your community.
💙 Remember that recovery is not one-size-fits-all, and every step forward deserves recognition.

Awareness must become more than something we acknowledge—it should influence how we see, support, and show up for one another.

Take a look at our September calendar and join us. You never know which event, conversation, or connection might become part of someone’s healing journey.

If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health or substance-use crisis, call or text 988 for immediate support.

✨ THERAPIST SPOTLIGHT: LACEY BROWNAWELL ✨

Meet Lacey! 💚 We asked her a few questions so you can get to know the therapist behind the therapy room a little better—and she gave us some really great answers!

💭 What inspired you to become a therapist?
Lacey was inspired by her own counselor and by watching a close friend struggle with alcohol addiction. Her counselor helped her recognize strengths she didn’t see in herself and showed her the power of compassionate, nonjudgmental support. That experience inspired Lacey to help others find hope, healing, and confidence in themselves. 💚

🌱 Favorite part of working with clients?
Watching clients begin to see their story through a new lens! Lacey loves helping people recognize their strengths, challenge limiting beliefs, and develop a stronger sense of who they are.

🎨 Therapeutic approaches?
Person-centered, narrative, and Gestalt approaches are her favorites. She loves creating a safe space where clients feel heard and can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. And yes—she's also a fan of bringing creative and experiential activities into sessions when it fits the client!

🏖️ Clinician goal this year?
Expanding her skills in sandplay therapy so she can offer clients another creative way to express themselves, process emotions, and promote healing.

🌿 Favorite self-care?
Raised-bed gardening + bike rides = Lacey's kind of therapy! 🚲🌱 Being outdoors and slowing down helps her recharge and stay grounded.

📚 Favorite book?
Maybe You Should Talk to Someone by Lori Gottlieb. It actually helped confirm that becoming a therapist was the path she was meant to pursue. 💚

🗺️ Dream travel goal?
Visit all 50 states! 🇺🇸 She has 13 left, and Maine is next! 👀

🎶 Fun fact?
Lacey loves trying to learn different instruments—with a BIG emphasis on trying 😂 Her favorites are the mandolin and mountain dulcimer!

🐶🐱 Dogs or cats?
Both! Especially dogs with cat-like personalities and cats with dog-like personalities. Basically, Lacey appreciates an animal who refuses to follow the rules. 😂

We're so lucky to have Lacey on the Center for Hope and Healing team! 💚

Drop a 👋 in the comments to say hi to Lacey!
